Hi, gang.
I am new here and to action figures.

My first question is this: Are there any intros for making and collecting action figures? Articles on figure body types and whether they have extra parts (heads, hands) that can be swapped, etc?

I am a historian, centering on the criminal world of my great-grandfather, Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith, a nineteenth century confidence man, crime boss of Colorado and Alaska fame. Years ago I saw a custom Al Capone figure that someone had made. The guy made figures to order and I was going to get him to make "Soapy" but I never got around to it. Recently someone on eBay made a "Soapy" figure to sell. It is so badly made that absolutely nothing about it reminds me of Soapy. That's when I decided to look into making my own. I'm already getting interested in creating "Soapy's" gang as well.

I'm looking forward to searching through this forum, and making friends.

For anyone interested in learning who the hell "Soapy" Smith is, you can go to soapysmith.net
