I've 3 Clones on the bench , a Commander Bly , a 51'st and my own design I call a "Republic ARC Drop Troop" . For this I used the earlier AOTC Trooper which has significantly bulkier armour . I took design cues from the Republic Commandos from the Video game . It'll all make sense when I finish and post pics soon . ( Honest!) As for TTL , I'll quote my posting on another forum .
The adapter is pretty good and I imagine it'd fit the majority of sculpts , I've tested it with BBI, Dragon , custom sculpts and in this case Diamond Selects "Jack Bauer" ( modified!).
Since I've had time to "test drive" the figure itself (the T1.0A), I'm definately impressed . The arms in particular are superb and strange though the shoulders look nude , in practice , they are able to "shoulder" rifles etc in a highly realistic manner . This is due to their ability to "shrug" forward , back , up ,down , in fact on all axis .
The wrists are also very good and the hands are quite possibly the best sculpted on the market . Bold statement I know , but they really are that good .
All the joints feature smooth but firm articulation and the general build quality is fantastic , Sideshow could learn a thing or two from this company . I'm seriously considering swapping out a few of my Star Wars figures onto these fellahs !
Speaking of Sideshow , the figures hips appear quite similar to the "Prometheus", but in this case they actually work properly and deep stances , crouches etc are all possible . This is one area where many figures fall down ( no pun intended) so this feature alone edges the figure ahead of the competition . The knee joint is also a bit of a surprise as it is a seperate unit with a rotating joint connection where it meets the thigh .
This enables the figure to adopt very subtle , realistic standing poses and this , combined with the extremely mobile ankles again sets the figure apart from its competitors . I know , this sounds like it's turning into a "love-fest" but I really am that impressed . My previous body of choice was the BBI G3 , mainly due to it's reasonable price and sturdy construction , but this figure knocks the G3 into a cocked hat . The only slight minus is that the ankles do seem a little loose , but I don't see that being a real problem once the figure is wearing boots . There is also quite a visible gap where the neck joins the body , but again , when dressed this won't be an issue . In fact , the T3.0 variant does away with this and would seem to be specifically designed for use with open shirts and suchlike . To sum up then, great product , good price and TTL ( whoever the hell they are ) deserve to sell a boatload . I'm already planning my next couple of bashes and it's been a while since I've been that inspired .
( NOTE : the above pics were taken before I remembered I had the neck adapter included with the figure . Modellers dementia strikes again!)
Thread de-railment over !
