Mattel made a Hot Wheels Sojourner that’s roughly 1/12 scale (2” long), but could look cool with this figure. Otherwise you could 3D print one to scale. I think it’d be a fun accessory!

And I am in total agreement with what you said earlier about displaying Watney alone (or at least without another character). That was his story; surviving in isolation for so long. If there is any figure that needs to be displayed on his own shelf (Detolf, for example) it is this one.

That's true. But I'd prefer it to look like a rock rather than a stand. Actually, I suppose I could just go buy a real rock at a quarry that has some red martian-ness to it.

Seems like it. This one was only five months.

They definitely must have had this one in development for quite some time prior to the pre-orders going out. It is a complicated figure with electronics and two head sculpts.
