When is Sideshow shipping Claire out? Waiting for my second one.
I preordered from BBTS, I'm guessing all American retailers are caught in a delay. I'm starting to suspect a new batch for American retailers will be made incorporating changes from the Japanese retailel release. If you go to BBTS and read the descriptions of both American and Japanese version, it says the Japanese figure uses a 3.5 body while the American uses a 3.0 body. They could be delaying it to refine the batch.

I hope so and better jacket. Just noticed even classic Leon hasn’t shipped yet.

I got the classic Leon and Claire from onesixthoutfitters. Leon arrived way back in January and Claire has been in the box for nearly 2 weeks now. Should probably open to check the vest. I wouldn't have known if not for this thread.
edit: Messaged them about the remake Claire and was told it was delayed and will have a better quality jacket :yess:

I’m also curious. I almost preordered one on BBTS but $50 bucks more? Pass.

I'm hoping her body is less skinny, I'm not sure if it's just the photos, but her body in the actual product has a neck that seems too elongated when not wearing the jacket. Also without the jacket she seems a bit too skinny compared to how she really looked in the game.

I've noticed the long neck too. It's actually crafted so that it has a little wiggle room. She can have a longer neck with the jacket, and a shorter neck without it. You just have to push down on the head sculpt and it'll go down on the neck a bit more

Glad they're somewhat improving their issues. The Leon figure barely had a neck left with all his equipment on. After getting Classic Leon it has an even worse turtleneck issue than the regular one tbh

Just noticed by preorder thru Monkey Depot and the description now says 3.5 body. Makes sense about the delay… as for the long neck it’s true I tried using the MMTToys Jill sculpt on the extra body I bought and it didn’t work.

Gave Claire the Xtoys jacket. Even though its pleather, I still like the fit better.

Also prefer the x-toys jacket. It has a nice fit and looks much more realistic than the ub-toys childs jacket or the stiff and thick damtoys elephant leather jacket . Cons are the oversized zipper pulls (maybe could be replaced with smaller ones?), zipper color and the jacket color is a bit off i think. But for me it's still the clear winner of the 3.

I know before the final jacket was actually revealed everyone was so sure that real leather was the way to go. When I found this thread I already knew those in favor of real leather would be let down when the final product came out. I feel though pleather material has gotten much better with hot toys's stuff. But with other companies, I wouldn't know.

Honestly now, what figures in the past have some of you guys had where the pleather just rotted off. I don't have much leather clothes figures, but the one I have is the DX Terminator with the minigun from Hot Toys that came out around 2012-2014. Up to this day his pleather clothes are still fine, no deterioration signs. Handling that figure is rough but nothing so far flaked off. I assumed over the years Hot Toys started using different kinds pleather that withstood time and handling. The other figure I have that uses pleather is hot toys's very first dx joker figure with the grenades back in 2009. It's only pleather piece was the strap that was meant for holding the string end tied onto the grenades. I never touched or used the leather strap once, but over time the brown pleather coat just flaked off.

But going back to the Terminator figure I have which was all pleather clothing, i can only assume that it's made of a stronger pleather material since it withstood time and rough handling.

For Claire I thought real leather was just the wrong material, mainly because I'm basing its comparison to Hot Toys's DX Terminator and the later Hot Toys figures that came out.

What figure have you guys had in the past and how long ago did they release? How long did the pleather last before it started to rot?

Seen some of the most significant rotting on the RE4 Hot Toys Leon jacket, or the jacket on the Hot Toys Terminator Salvation John Connor with fake leather.

I have a Super Duck Cammy Set from a 2019 and the boots, pouches, leg strap, and shoulder straps all deteriorated despite keeping it in the box.

I'm in the minority, but I like the Leather Jacket for Claire. It's bulky, but it actually looks like something Chris would've given her. Just hope Damtoys fixes their craftsmanship so that it'll last and stop ripping/peeling.

The re4 Leon came out back in 2008. So they were still new in experimenting with clothing structure. They didn't really become a truly high end quality company until Disney bought marvel. Sadly when that happened they product line become nothing but just comic book film figures. But when that happened the quality of clothing materials they did got better. Figures not based off comic books become more rare to see from them. My DX Terminator was released in 2012 which makes the timing just right to explain why my Terminator figure hasn't have signs of rotting pleather. I can't say the same for other 1/6 scale figure companies, Damtoys is still unknown. But if they had used the same pleather hot toys uses now, I dont think it would show problems. Although I will say that when they made figures of videogames at the time their figures started pushing through detailed screen accuracy, they were a letdown. Mainly their RE5 and MGS figures. I felt they could have taken liberties to actually research and find that the faces of these videogame characters were scanned off real people. If Hot Toys did the RE2 figures I'm pretty sure they'd get clothes perfect, but the faces would remake a mystery. So far I can say is that the Damtoys face sculpts are the only one that actually retain the likeness of the real people the characters' face models were scanned off of.

Thanks!
Back print can be done by “heat printing”;

I try it on another work (add printing on leather).
But this jacket for Claire is not try this part yet.

I received mine last month,
Except for the leather jacket, I like DAMTOYS's this figure.

And I decide to make the jacket by myself with genuine leather.

Nicely done. That's how DAM should've done it.

I get a kick out of people saying the proto was pleather and the new version is leather so it's better, yet you've done it in leather, and it looks as good or better than the proto. The color's different, but throw some mood lighting on yours and I'm sure it looks just like the game. Looking at some screenshots, it looks like the jacket was a strong red, but with the in-game lighting, it doesn't read that way.

I'm actually impressed, when the final product came out I immediately hunted for well known people that specialize in custom clothing and sadly they said they don't requests, and one them explained to me that it's impossible to tighten up the jacket because the real leather would end up tearing like a stamp given the require number of stitches poked on the seam line. But after seeing that you've made your own jacket and used real leather, a much thinner looking one; do you see that problem likely to happen on your custom made jacket?

Would you be willing to make and sell customs?

They must have different thought before mass production.
