Just got this one in from Sideshow. I don’t know if it was the 30% off or just months of tempered expectations, but I actually really like this one. The head is definitely small and the shoulder pads aren’t great, but I think the body is pretty good and the sculpt with the gritted teeth is a great Evans Cap expression.

So like many I was a bit annoyed by Endgame's undersized head. So I purchased a Civil War head as it's colors are the closest match. Below is the figure withe the Civil War headsculpt. The color is a tad different, but not enough to be easily noticed. Overall I'm really happy. I also scored a great deal on the Civil War Battling Version, which is supposedly a better color match, and is slightly less long in face. I'll post pics when that arrives too. But if this is the best it gets, I'm satisfied.

Here are some comparison shots with the Endgame head. Other than the size, there are a few noticeable differences. The skin tone is a bit less red and blush colored in the Civil War sculpt, more dirty and tan. Also the helmet is not quite as weathered. The ears protrude a bit further on the Endgame sculpt and appear closer to the head in the Civil War head. Color wise, the Civil War helmet is ever so slightly more teal, while the Endgame is slightly more navy. But it's almost imperceptible in natural light. Both match the suit brilliantly.

Neat! While I don't mind the stock helmeted head sculpt, the CW head also looks good on this figure, as well as @Omega9300 's repainted head swap. Though for me I think I'm gonna stick with displaying the un-helmeted head since I've come to like it more :wink1:

The Endgame Cap modding continues. I recently purchased a Civil War Battling headsculpt (which I believe HT repurposed from the AOU Cap), along with the standard Civil War headsculpt, to replace Endgame's standard undersized pinhead. I then repainted the helmets on both to match the original Endgame sculpt/suit. Below are the results (both the Endgame and Civil War head are sharing a neck piece, the Battling version has as sculpted neck). I personally prefer the CW Battling head, as it's the best proportioned in my opinion. It was a lot of very detailed work, but I'm glad to have the extra options and I love modding, so it's a win win.

I feel like the original Civil War head, had a rather elongated face due to the interchangeable mouths. In an effort to fix this with the Endgame sculpt they squashed the whole head too much. The Battling/AOU sculpt has no changeable plates, so the proportions are more natural. Likewise, the lighter chin strap and chin guard are also more accurate to the Endgame film costume. So overall, I think the Battling version is the best choice to my eyes.

Yeah I think you are right about the Battling/AOU version having the best proportions for this figure.

Also have to say that the paint job you did on these head sculpts is incredible!!! I did the best repaint I could on the Strike Suit sculpt I used with the Endgame body, but wow your paint work came out much, much better than what I did.

I don't know if anyone's posted pictures here before of Endgame cap with HT's ridiculously long ankle connectors with standard sized short connectors, but here you go. I was always bothered by Cap's inhumanly long legs. The mod really helps bring Cap down to a proper scale compared to the other HT current Avenger figures. In order to use the shorter pegs, it's necessary to trim away a bit of the top of the rubber shoe opening (about an 1/8 inch), so that the top half of the connector peg is fully exposed for the ankle to attach to. But the boot spat covers the opening entirely, so you'd never see this trim.

Now, instead of Cap being as tall as Iron Man, he sits between Spiderman and Iron Man in height. Which feels right.

Are they hard to pull out ?

I think cap and iron man should be about the same height, thor noticeably taller and spider-man noticeably shorter. I'm not sure how that translates to inches though,
Yea I feel like they gave Cap those longer ankles due to the Mk85 Iron Man figures being so tall. The Thor figures don’t have the longer ankles pegs as far as I remember, but they do have a really long neck that I think compensates for that.

Cap definitely looks better with more height, not an improvement.
You’re mistaking your opinion for fact. To me the new head and shorter ankles give him more believable human proportions.

You could say “I think Cap looks better with more height, I don’t think this is an improvement”. Just a few edits and it doesn’t sound as jerky.

Yeah they have definitely been making the more recent Iron Man figures too tall, so I guess it makes sense that they would make Cap taller also bk he should be as tall if not taller than Tony. But it should go without saying that Hot Toys should be making all their Thor figures significantly taller than both Cap and Iron Man, end of story.

Thor isn’t that much taller than than Cap in real life or in the movies, though, so I don’t think he should be significantly taller than them.
Evans is 6ft and Hemsworth is 6’3”
