Star Wars: Andor (September 21st, 2022)

Gotta say I enjoyed these first 3 episodes a lot more on a rewatch. Seemed to work and flow a lot better, now that I'm accustomed to the show's different style and tone.

I've had the chance to watch all 3 episodes now.
Like what I see so far. Really love how it's been filmed, looks great. Really shows up the other D+ Star Wars shows.
It was an odd experience watching them one at a time over several days just because somehow the first 2 episodes felt slow but also too short.
Very optimistic for the rest of the series.
I'm interested to see if there'll be any repercussions for the little mining town because of what happened in episode 3.
Andor has escaped but will the Empire respond with Stormies to punish the populace? A step up from the failed security forces.
With the ending of episode 3, it really opens things up going forward.
I also like that the Empire hasn't made an appearance yet. We start with just a local security force and it escalates to the full on Stormies and TIES.
Builds up the Imperial forces because we know things are serious when they're called in because its too much for corpo security to handle.
I've always liked the other parts of the Star Wars galaxy. Always enjoyed the non Jedi parts, the non Force parts. Always more interested in the hives of scum and villany or the lives of the soldiers and ordinary people.
I know a lot of fans grew up with the PT and for them Star Wars is Jedi and lightsabers but even though the Force and the Jedi have always been an important part of Star Wars, I think it wasn't as big a part of the franchise.
Anyway... I'd like the episodes to be longer though. If we're going for a more serious tone, a spy thriller, a story about the ordinary people of the galaxy, a grown up show, we need a grown up shows runtime. Not this cartoon show runtime.
This has the potential to be better than any of the other shows. It's already better than Kenobi or BoBF (which isn’t saying much) but may well be better than The Mandalorian by the end of season 1.

Had no idea. And she's been in quite a lot of stuff that I recognize but either never seen or not seen in years.

I remember her from Three Men and a Little Lady. Think I saw her in that before anything else, oddly enough.

She also plays Petunia Dursley (Harry's Aunt) in the Harry Potter films.

Pretty sure the last time I saw the ''Three Men and a ______'' films was as VHS rentals. Wouldn't mind seeing them again actually.

Both are on Disney Plus. Watched the first one again.

Any film with a Peter Cetera song is automatically a classic.

I'm just happy for that Mon Mothma actress that she'll finally get something meaty to do with the character.

Please tell me Fiona Shaw didn't play the titular little lady. I feel old enough already.

That dour, sullen, sad sack is the cinematic equivalent of watching paint dry.

Compared to Andor, the Nose Lady from "Last Jedi" is a thrill-a-minute roller coaster ride.
