I always thought that when he takes of the rejuvenation mask, he's supposed to look exactly the same. I thought that was the "gag."
Yea, same here. Doc was kind of ageless in the series. There wasn't even a significant difference between him in 1955 and 1985 other than hairstyle.

Probably has something to do with the VHS and TV quality we were all used to watching as kids. I actually didn’t realize how much old man makeup they put on him until the Blu Ray came out.

Get your magnifying glass out...

Did anyone else notice that the Western Doc portrait is on all the bills in the emergency cash case?

I dont know why they did this version. It’s all we are ever gonna get though and I think we all know that. So we got a doc brown.

The figure is ok. It’s not super good much like both Marty’s. But I enjoy them all. A damn third party needs to make a radiation suit then we would all be ok and we can more or less close the book on BTTF. Rejuvenation face or not I’d be ok with this sculpt sitting on a third part radiation suit and have the future gear to dress him in on a rainy day.

He’s supposed to look younger because Doc went to the “rejuvenation clinic” (took off old man makeup). So he’s basically young 1955 doc with silver hair. In the behind the scenes commentary they said they didn’t want Christopher Lloyd to have to sit through makeup everyday so they decided to come up with the rejuvenation clinic gag, so it’s 49 year old Christopher Lloyd’s natural look. They are going to have to come out with radiation suit Doc if we want the 70 year old man sculpt.

Problem is to me the sculpt looks way too young and smooth even for a 1955 Doc.

For anyone that has received their Doc Brown. Does anyone know what TTM body it compares to? I want to get a custom outfit made, but want to avoid shipping the body out to them. Thanks.

If you think this is the only Doc Brown they will release you are wrong (bold statement I know) I think we sometime use this as an excuse to purchase something we are not totally convinced on. This line is selling well I would say. You wouldn't invest in the tooling required to make an entire 1/6 scale car, let alone pay out for the licences to only produce a very limited run of one character. We thought BTTF Marty was going to be " the only" BTTF figure we got. Then a year or so later its announced we will get BTTF2 early costume Marty and BTTF2 early costume Doc. We then get teased 1950's BTTF2 Marty and Doc. From what I have seen this figure has almost intentional flaws, such as not having doubled jointed elbows, a limited posing expression and a far too youthful appearance. Hot Toys are not silly, they know the definitive Doc Brown is the radiation suit version and so that will be released after all other versions in order to sell as many figures and get their moneys worth out of the licence.

They rely, in part, on us believing this will be the "only" version of the character and so buy it under that pretence we wont get another. All that being said though, I do really like this figure, but having just bought two Blitzway Ghostbusters, I just cant justify another 220 GBP on another figure at the moment, however I do really like this figure and slightly jealous I cant get him! I' am worried though that they will do figures from 1885. My bank account will take a total pounding if so. Doc and Marty in western attire...just take my money!!!

I very seriously doubt HT is going to do another version of Doc. They've obviously moved on from older licenses with very few exceptions. If it's not obvious already they're going all out on the Disney train. Especially with Solo coming soon and infinity war. Something like a part 1 Doc is bottom shelf on their priority list at best. We're "lucky" enough to have even gotten this version.

Doc just came back from the future

Just picked up Doc. Really nice figure overall. This, for me is one of the situations where the HS is better in hand. The paint work details can't really be picked up unless in hand. My BTTF collection is complete!

I remember some people said we would get another Bane somewhere down the road, never happened, so I'm glad I got that fig when it came out. I was never gonna skip on Doc as I'm a massive BTTF fan and I love Part II especially. I still think the fig looks pretty damn good.

If I get a Doc to go with my BTTF Marty. It means I can only recreate the first 10 minutes of Back to the future II, and need to remove the life preserver and denim jacket.

It's Doc and Marty from Back to the Future. Why would you have to remove the life preserver just because he didn't have it on for that particular scene lol.
