Looks great! The lack of accessories and a base is really strange. Is this dude going to come in a box the same size as all the TFA? It would be silly to have to store a huge box for this little thing. I still like this better than SS, so the HT will be put in the ANH display and the SS will sit next to Yoda. Still hoping for the Tama R2 to get made.

I already have the SS one and I think it's pretty good, plus it comes with way more accessories and opening compartments. The paint and weathering definitely looks a lot better from HT, but I'm undecided right now if I would get it.

Would be great if they could do a double pack of R2D2 and BB8. Even cooler would be if the remote could do sounds for both. I kinda like the sounds BB8 made.

Wish they just made an all inclusive R2. As badly as I want this to replace SS, I'd rather hold off for OT version. Until of course it comes out and everyone shows their pictures of how awesome it is....

SSC's barebones version was $120, so it'll be interesting to see how close HT gets to that cost. I expect over $150 easily because of the diecast but under $200. That's my range for ordering

I think my “sweet spot” for me is $50 less then actual price. Let me give you an example, I could not do Obi Wan for $220, but when SS had a $50 off offer $170 felt reasonable for me to make the purchase

A couple of pics for scale reference....

although we will not know for sure with these.

Every promo I've seen on this piece this morning never hints that this is TFA version..OP needs to change the title thread :dunno

This may finally be the 1/6 scale droid I've been looking for. Don't care that it doesn't come with 100 accessories I'll never use...as long as the sculpt and paint is HT quality, I will probably bite.

TFA R2 is more rusted to portray 30 years of time. The sound effects are only ones used in TFA and missing some of his iconic sounds. Also no base. Not that he needs a base to stand but if every figure is on a base and R2 isn't then everything looks out of scale.
