Size matters not, and you get what you paid for. It's nice, but not high end and could arguably be compared to just an oversized KO.

I can't really agree with this. Of course quality trumps all, and yeah, at times it isn't all about the size (boy is this rife of 'out of context')...but I also need to see the value between items of similar build, concept and execution. Even if it's comparable to an oversized KO like Wei Jangs MPP10...that's a VERY good thing and shouldn't be viewed as a negative. So the question is really about which aesthetic do you prefer? I like HT take on prime...but lawd is it expensive or a non transforming toy. Then you got this rendition of the same character that's much bigger than HT version, looks just as awesome and is relatively easy on the wallet...personally speaking, it's a no brainier. Then I ask myself this, if I got HT prime, what exactly am I paying for? R&D? Starscream parts? The design? The HT label?

The way I see it, that version of prime has a value of $190 at most, anything over that is unreasonable to me and my collecting habit. Just because it carries the name Optimus prime, I still need to see the value.

Of course everyone has their own preferences and I'm by no means insulting yours. It's cool if you like the HT version more. It's nice...just not $400 nice.

That price seems too good to be true. Is it made out of styrofoam or something?

EXACTLY.

Look at how big this OP is. Then look at Metroplex and Fortress Maximus. I think it is priced appropriately taking also un consideration it does not transform.

Looks good for what it is.

I agree, brother. And I'm definitely in for this mammoth Prime. Licensed and 18" for less than $200? Toys Alliance could very well be the NECA with better paintjob for Transformers collectors and I'm good with it. It says it's made of PVC and ABS but all I would care about now is having it displayed in an acrylic case.

Hell yeah bruh! :hi5:

I'm confident it'll be a solid product with good QC.

I agree with most of what you're saying. I'm not putting down this iteration of a figure, and it is a nice alternative to what's out there in it's category, and I am all for having options of what to buy. I'm at the stage in my life where I'd rather collect higher end collectibles, hence stating HT Prime, for me, may be a better choice for a poseable non-transforming Prime. In terms of aesthetics, to me, I see this as an oversized version of the first Prime MP figure, without the transforming feature. I'm just not into that. There are plenty of great deals out there in the second hand market for a HT Prime for low $200s, which this figure comes close to. It just comes down to personal taste is all. :hi5:

For $200 the HT is a good deal, though I would still avoid it because I dislike he design. Honestly, my ideal non-transforming Prime would be either the Ultimetal without the metal, or this guy with the same voice gimmick as the Ultimetal. All that die-cast doesn't work in a figure that big, however much engineering has gone into it.

I truly wish the Ultimetal line was at a cheaper price point. There is no way you can watch a video, or look at pics to describe how it feels in hand. The articulation is great, and the Die cast is not used as just weight, but is incorporated into the engineering of it.

I never display mine with full armor, I like showing the exposed robot pistons underneath. I do also appreciate that I have the real Peter Cullen voice trapped inside of him.

As for Ultimetal Megatron no word yet that he will ever be produced. We need to wait for Ultra Magnus first.

I agree how they feel in hand. I love how Prime looks! I hope they release Megtron. Those two next to each other would look epic!

Sadly he's been banned...

Surprised it took this long! Guy was nothing but a bunch of negativity IMO and seemed to go out of his way to irritate people. Didn't really contribute to the boards... But anyway on to greener pastures...

Thx btw for taking the time to do those reviews! I watched the turtles earlier... Little different style than the norm! It works! :clap

Way too kind with the words bro, thanks. :hi5:

Fair. I'm sure it feels great, and without all the armour I think I'd rather like it. All the weight seems like it'd be cumbersome, though. And even as I say that, I would rather like Ultimetal Prime and Megatron as a pair.

Yep agreed, I've been waiting for years to have them make Megatron. As Mariah Carey said Someday, someday :)

Wow, that looks good :) Is it hard to paint the face? If not I might paint mine as it makes a big difference.
