He just arrived, but I'm stuck at work and won't be home for another 10 hours

First impression is the shipper has seen better days, but it did it's job and protected the display box. Same size box as the recent Wolffe Pack trooper. The rest unfortunately will have to wait.

Armor parts are mostly the same but paint app is completely different. Beside helmet, he also sports a new pauldron and has a new headsculpt.

Are they? I would assume they used the new armour developed for the deluxe clones. Only minor changes/updates, but different no?

yeah, they obviously went with the latest DX design. I meant there was nothing really noticeable on most parts (legs, thighs, arms, biceps, torso...) sculpt wise. Only real changes are the helmet.

Yes, new armor from deluxe clones but same design except for what Tee-Kay mentioned.

Sorry for the delay. My net connection went down.

First up, the headsculpt. I really like this one. The hair lets it down a little but I'm not sure what else they could have done given Rex's hairstyle. The face sculpt and paint apps are some of the best I've seen on a sideshow figure.

That looks very realistic, pretty impressed with that sculpt..., I don't use the human heads as I prefer the helmeted look but it's good to see they're always improving, just got to be patient & wait for my figure now.

His left arm is a little loose. He had difficulty holding it straight out extended which was disappointing. The head sculpt is a pain to get on. At first I thought the ball joint was too small. Pulling off the head requires a bit of force and the shoulder pauldron usually pops off with it. Hand and feet came off and on without the need for force. Basically your typical sideshow trooper. I've gotten lucky so far and all of mine are able to hold the poses I want. Rex is probably the loosest one I have.

He looks great though. Easily the best trooper I have. Can't wait for Arc Echo and Fives now. Those will be the last for my clones collection.

Rex Phase 2 with Echo and Fives Phase 2 will make a great display.

Wow, I can't wait to get my hands on this release! That headsculpt looks awesome and I occasionally use the clone heads when I display my phase 1 Rex holding his helmet. Thanks for sharing photos and really looking forward to Rex Phase 2.
