I don't have a problem with that at all. There's no way it's gonna be permanent. It's probably just another Superior Spider-Man kind of deal where it'll probably be only for a year or so, maybe it'll end before Age of Ultron comes out but I highly doubt it's permanent. Lady Loki wasn't permanent. I'm really trying to understand all the hate for this. XD

Personally, my hate is conditioned by whether it's permanent or not.

Don't get me wrong I love female characters, really, love them and I hate the over sexualization etc etc, what I don't like is when they grab an established character with decades of history and it's actually based on Norse lore, and turn it into something else as a marketing gimmick or to fill some pseudo PC demand, for whatever reason, being race or gender.

If they want more gender equality or racial diversity, create more female and diverse characters, or better yet, make the ones that already exist more interesting and prolific, don't go and do this.

Could you imagine the media storm if WW was turned into a man or Black Panther into white?

Nah, when a white character gets turned black there's no problem, there's a problem when it's the other way around.

I actually think theres worst stuff going on, like casting Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton to play Moses and Rhamses in Exodus.

Uhhh that's gonna start some **** up there's a whole deal of controversy already about whether the Egyptians were black or white.

I honestly believe that there should be no such thing as RACE in movies. If you've got a good actor... who cares what color they are? Morgan Freeman could play Vanilla Ice and I'd honestly believe him as the greatest white rapper of all time.

sorry but I disagree, its not about the actor, to enjoy movies, particularly fantasy/scifi movies, sometimes suspension of disbelief is required by the viewer at least in some way, the same can be said with belief in the characters being portrayed, in order for that to happen the character must be believable

It's about Thor losing his power. Anyone can be Thor. You, me, a mutant. What's been said is that Thor is still gonna be around. It's just gonna be another chick who is gonna be worthy of holding Mjolnir.

Yeah sure it's based on actual mythology but it's BASED. I don't think Stan ever meant to completely stick to the myths. This is just science fiction/fantasy after all. They were always going to be doing their own thing with it. ,y friend LOVES Thor and even worships him since she is Pagan. She told me that yeah they do change things from the actual mythology but it's still just a different universe than the actual myths and thinks the changes are cool in their own creative way. I mean Heaven is the 10th realm? Pretty damn cool from a fictional standpoint.

I wouldn't mind either if a dude took on the mantle of Wonder Woman or even if a white dude took on the mantle of Black Panther. As long as you treat the original character with respect and write it well but that's just me.

I think the current Ms. Marvel run as well as even the new Wally West are executing the ideas pretty well.

Well I think you've got a point, race shouldn't be a factor when casting original characters etc;
But when you're casting a person that actually existed, it's different, imagine if instead of Will Smith they cast Brad Pitt as Ali, both actors are talented (Smith, coincidentally showing that in that role especially) but it's simply more believable with Smith.
