Funny that Konami did a survey in order to determine whether or not to have a retail release in the west and most people said yes. If Konami had let people know prior that it's a 5 minute speedrun game then I'll bet people would want this $10 digital at the most.

Seriously, 5 minute speedrun? Are the enemies asleep in the game? Do they pose less of a challenge than making toast?

Let's extrapolate this a bit. GZ is a "2 hour" game that takes 5 minutes to complete in a speed run. So, what does that make of TPP which consists of "60 hours"? A speed run of 115 minutes! Or, probably less, for all we know.

Kojima should have respected his fan base a lot more. I bet he thought, that we'd be so distracted by the pretty graphics of the FOX Engine, that we wouldn't notice the glaring problems in his marketing strategy.

GZ should be offered for FREE just as any other demo. Or, at least packaged together with a new Collectors Edition of MGS, ZOE, or Metal Gear Rising - so it doesn't seem like we're being duped.

Well, at least he's slowly becoming more transparent with his intentions, and God forbid a figure of a decently clothed woman would sell well.

The time some games take when speedran can be random honestly. Zelda games can be around 5 hours when speed ran for instance, when compared to the normal play time. Same with God of War which may take 10-20 hours but speed ran could be well under 5 hours...or something. But I've gotta wonder how Ground Zeroes could be beat under 5 minutes? Something seems off. Maybe Kojima really screwed up with the numbers or something.

There's just too many kojibros that overshadow the likes of us, or maybe he's trying to cater to them with making us pay for Ground Zeroes and hope we follow suit.

I just can never agree with the popular opinion. :slap

I loved all 3 Nolan Batman films. TDK is the best of the bunch hands down, but my favorite is Rises. Begins I like more TDK also, but I can’t say it’s a better movie. I just find the reason most people that hate Rises is real nitpicking. FSLAR I think is kind of right, it was a bit too ambitious, but in the end it all worked. It stayed true to the trilogy, and ended perfectly in my opinion. Almost every movie has problems, but it seems when any of Nolan’s Batman films have one, it is blown way out of proportion. People hate that Bruce retires, yet Michael Keaton’s Batman was murdering people like nothing. Batman 89 gets nothing but love on here. I love it too, but it has its faults like any other film, same for Nolan’s trilogy. Also I’m not a big Batman fan, loved the series growing up but I care more about good movies, than comic accuracy for the most part.

I will be buying Ground Zeroes, and I am looking forward to playing it. Like I said before, I expect the main mission to be a little longer because I will be playing it on hard, then I will do side missions, then most likely replay it again to get a platinum. I’ll most likely try playing stealthy first then go all out action. For me most likely I will get a lot of time and enjoyment out of it, so 30 dollars isn’t too bad for me.

For the people who are buying this just because they an epic campaign and get that real Metal Gear experience, I would just wait for this to go down in sale, or wait for TPP.

Konami is making a smart decision doing this. It will do good numbers on the next gen systems. Is it overpriced? Most likely, but I can fault a company for making smart business decisions. I’ll most likely enjoy this “”demo” more than any game I have played in the past year outside of TLOU.

Mark my words, this game will be 20 dollars in about a month.

Wait-

5 minutes speed run? Now that's a little messed up. I can see making those 2hrs last longer by doing side missions or whatnot, but a 5 minute speed run doesn't sound good at all. It equals a very, very short game.

Only speed run I've ever done was ninja Gaiden black, and it was a horrible, horrible experience.

Yeah I've noticed 1989 Batman gets a lot of love. It's a great movie (I seriously need the Hot Toys of him and Joker), but with Batman murdering people...how are people fine with that? Batman stresses about how much he does not kill, and many iterations of him stress this fact. People do go berserk over the flaws in Nolan's films but I'm guessing maybe it's since some of them hate how they're overlooked by critics or something, idk. Maybe it's since critics and average people prefer this to the old movies, or since people tend to lump the Burton films with Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. Who knows? But I like the trilogy for what it is, along with the Burton films. Though Batman Returns at times is way too weird and has more Burton influence than Batman influence compared to the first.

Still not sure about Ground Zeroes. I really don't know about this, and I seriously need to look into that 5 minutes thing. I do think it needs a lot more though, and a smaller price drop.

Maybe they prefer Batman be a cold blooded kill instead of retiring :dunno

I think the real hate, has to do with Nolan and Dark Knight fans. Nolan gives the impression he is better than superhero movies, and instead took a comic book character and put him in a different genre of film. After TDK came out and blew up, those fans went crazy and couldn’t stop expressing how much better Nolan’s Batman is better than every other superhero movie ever, kind of how The Avengers’ fans are acting now. I guess It is payback or something, but you can really see on here, that even people who enjoyed Batman Begins or Rises don’t say it proudly.

Personally I don’t like what Marvel is putting out these days, I really enjoyed Iron Man 1 and Thor 1, the rest not so much. But I understand why other people do(except for IM3). All things more grounded and realistic these days are frowned upon on here. I stopped going to the movies to watch Marvel Studios movies, because they’re becoming a parody of themselves. I am looking forward to The Winter Solider and Guardians of the Galaxy this year though, they look fresh and a bit different from what Marvel has been putting out.

:exactly: I can't stomach the Nolan films aside from BB.

Same. BB was awesome. TDK was a boom mainly because Heath died, and TDKR sucked.

Thats fine. I personally prefer all the Nolan films to Batman 89. I still like Batman Returns, but that script has to be one of the worst in the history of comic book movies. I watched it recently after so long, and I can’t believe some of the things that made it in to the script. Th performances and atmosphere is why I like Returns, but man is it bad.
