I never liked queuing for all this so called "Exclusives". Because their exclusivity are exaggerated.

I remember at the first STGCC, I didnt even have to queue to get my T-600 limited edition. I just went up to the counter paid for it and walked off.

I got my Commissioner Gordon from my friend last year, cos he managed to get an additional one on the 2nd day and let Yuili sign it.

Anyone remember Demon Batman & Scarecrow being exclusives? Months later they pop up on sites like amiami.com and you could just buy them.

Now that Hot Toys has exploded locally & with everyone being Iron Man crazy, the queues are just ridiculous. If Midas was one of a kind unique figure, I might have been tempted to queue for it. But it's just a repaint...it's not really that special.

People stood in line for 15 hours for a golden painted Iron Man 3 suit of armor?
WTF?
Also what was OP's problem?
I know English might not be his first language but I didn't have enough bread crumbs to follow that?
Can some one break it down?

I hope one day I can stop collecting or get away from this hobby...

Sad to say I would never do this for an Iron man, but if the HULK was a supposed "chase" figure, I might be inclined to line up and fall for the same bs...

Bottom line is they are toys but they have a strange stranglehold on us...

they are expensive,
they are stupid childish,
they are fricken awesome,
I can't stop yet...

I don't think the OP was upset because he can't sell it at a high price now that there's more available. I think he's upset because he sacrificed a lot because he was being told that there are only 800 available when in fact there were more. And I can understand his frustration knowing that he could've just slept and go in the morning and still get the figure instead of sleeping on a con floor.

Regardless of whether he was keeping it or selling it, saying he sacrificed a lot, is a bit dramatic. He willingly gave up one night of sleep for a toy. We sleep 365 days a year. Sleep isn't a rare thing. He didn't donate a kidney.

Anyone else get a creeping suspicion that after all the madness over all these IM products spewing out of HT like projectile vomit, they'll be worth as much as a cigarette-burned beanie baby in a crack house?

This feels like such a bubble right now! :lol

The HT bubble breaking post theory surfaces at least once a month for years now. I guess eventually, someone will be right. It may be 27 years from now, but who knows.

:lecture:exactly:

With Avengers 2 and Iron Man 4 already looming I don't see the value of this line going anywhere but up.

Going to be a long wait before that bubble pops....2020 maybe. :huh

And for every "veteran" collector that gets tired of what they consider Hot Toys poor business practice, there will be several new collector joining the herd.

Despite the shortcomings and problems that HT has, they are by far the best 1/6 makers out there. And the only ones making those popular licenses.

IM4?? RDJ is gonna do it again?

Oh, I'm mistaken. I think RDJ is signed on for Avengers 2 & 3, not IM4.

Wow so many of you are so quick to go with the OMG HE'S A SCALPER. To set the record straight, no I'm not a scalper. I do enjoy the thrill of the Hunt for rare toys. In this case I queued as I knew several collectors queuing and it was a Nice way to catch up with friends. I didn't have to have this figure but hey if I could get the opportunity to pick this one up then why not? I would most probAbly have traded it with a friend for something else but no I wouldn't have thrown it on evilbay the next day for a ridiculous mark up like what some have done.

I remember getting my IM mk.6 I believe. Didn't even have to queue.

That's the sad truth of it isn't it?

I'm breaking away from 1/6 and slowly going 1:1 lol

Whos asking? And he wanted to flip it. If not then why get out of line after all that time? For the record, if you have to sleep in a line overnight to get a figure then iI have no qualms with you jacking the price....I won't be buying it, but I don'tcare

I think the fact that he passed on the figure confirms he wasn't interested in flipping. Like he's stated, he's into rare figures and once he saw that these were going to be flooding the market, he felt maybe HT was a bit disengenuous and it killed his interest in the figure (and yeah, maybe it was overstated a bit, but whatever). Seems pretty believable to me.

I guess some here are just so excited by the idea of owning Midas that they can't imagine walking away from one, especially after a long wait, but if he enjoyed hanging with some friends during that time, it likely wasn't a big deal. Lastly, been a while since I checked Jediguy's collection, but if I remember correctly, he's got a lot of high-end stuff. If he spends his time between Singapore and Australia, you can assume he's got a good job and the $300.00 or $400.00 he could get for flipping Midas likely means **** all to him. Lot of douchebags in this thread, but he's not one of them, IMO.
