I honestly have no clue, lol, though I can easily find out. Someone has to still retain the rights to this stuff. Look at Power Lords resurgence by the Four Horsemen and the possible Captain Power reboot. Maybe the original creators? I'll ask.

If we're going to do the "chicken and egg" scenario, 12" Joe was the FIRST EVER action figure. So nuts to this.
First Ever Action Figure I think has to go to the wooden Superman figure made by Ideal back in 1940. Shame it took toy companies another 20+ years to really dial it in.

I finally had a chance to get out to the Flea Market this morning. I was getting ready to leave when I spotted one of my grails lying on a table surrounded by crappy McDonalds toys. Needless to say I couldn't get the buck out of my wallet fast enough.
Mako from Tigersharks. He was plenty filthy, but cleaned up beautifully. I only had him for a short time as a kid since he broke soon after getting him. I've pretty much wanted another one ever since.

That's interesting... I didn't know about this at all. Anyone have one? Does it go for big bucks nowadays?
Cool Tigershark, but the subject of crappy McDonalds toys piqued my interest. Some of them were actually pretty cool - I have fond memories of those white, red and blue transforming robots and the Muppet Babies figurines w/vehicles in particular... I keep seeing those at flea markets but they're usually in really crappy condition.
Anything else from McD's worth collecting? There are probably others I'm forgetting about completely...
I had the Muppet Babies. Very solid toys for what they were. Nowadays those would run $7 at Toys R Us. Others that stick out to me that I had were the McDonalds Transformers, the Superman Super Powers cup holder from Burger King, some of the Fraggle Rock cars, and some country Bears type dolls from Wendy's (?) that seem like they were pretty fancy.

The Muppet Babies were probably my fav McDonald's toys growing up, along with one of my favorite toons. It's a shame the series can't get green-lit for DVD--too many old films that need $$$ for use of a 5 second shot. Such b.s.
I just sold a bunch of those McDonald's food transformers on eBay a few months ago--the guy bought them for a Halloween costume, I wish I would have asked for pics! Wendy's had a nice set of Go-Bots in the 80's; space shuttle, purple space ship, helicoptor, and...I can't think of the others. Didn't someone (BK?) do Thundercats stuff too? I know I have the Snarf pencil topper.

Was Lucasfilm a holdout? Might be gtg if that's the case, since Muppets are also owned by Disney now...
I remember there was some gas station Go-Bots promotion as well... but I don't think they were exclusives.

I have to figure out what's wrong when I'm on my wireless connection. If I'm on a forum and there are a bunch of pictures. The connection will break for some reason.
Anyway, I'm on page 300! And already two successes. I vaguely remembered some parallel rail games with marbles. I found one here called Screwball Scramble. It has multiple names. I can't wait to get this one again. And I came up with some new search terms to find this Space Probe game. Awesome thread.

From what I understand even ones in poor condition go for close to a grand.
The McDonald's toys at my flea market are always from more recent years so they're not very exciting. I'm a sucker for diggin through tubs of them though just on that chance that something might've gotten mixed in. Found a Kellog's Lifeline that way once which was pretty cool. Finding Joes in the wild is such a rarity for me.
McDonald's did a set of Looney Tunes characters as DC Superheroes that were pretty cool. That was more toward the early 90s though.
Burger King did the Thundercats. Only things I remember other than the Snarf were a gow-in-the-dark lightswitch plate and a Lion-O clock, but I think the clock was something you could buy separately.
The McDs Muppet Babies were some of favorites as well. Its the first Happy Meal toy I really remember distinctly. Those and the fuzzy Bernstein Bears. I was able to put together a good set of Muppets a couple years back at a garage sale. Like Kara said the quality on them is really nice. They don't even feel like Happy Meal toys. I definitely reccommend them if you come across a set or even individual ones.

They definitely are the best McDonald's toys. Great sculpts. Great paint and decent playability.
I found this picture on Ebay. I know Animal was a Canada exclusive, but what's the deal with the other variants? I have Kermit on skateboard, Fozzy on horse, Gonzo on Bike and Piggy in car. I've never seen the other vehicles. Were they Canada too?
Edit: Nevermind...per the description...The first is for the 1987 set of 5 Muppet Babies with a RARE BABY ANIMAL toys from McDonald's. It's a very cute set. #1 is Baby Piggy in a pink convertible car. #2 is Baby Kermit on a red skateboard. #3 is Baby Fozzie on a yellow bobby horse with wheels. #4 is Baby Gonzo on a green tricycle with red wheel. #5 is the extra one of Baby Animal in a red wagon (THEY SAY THAT THIS ONE WAS AVAILABLE IN CANADA ONLY). The second set is for the 1991 Muppet Babies (4 CHARACTERS and 4 VEHICLES) that can be snapped together to make a train. The year marked on the bottom is 1990. #1 is Baby Kermit and he is with a soapbox type car. #2 is Baby Miss Piggy and she is on a tricycle. #3 is Baby Fozzie Bear and he is riding a wagon. #4 is Baby Gonzo and he is riding an airplane.

I've developed this Beautiful Mind-esque sense that helps me see through a pile of crap McD's toys at the flea market and decipher if there is anything of value in there. Usually within a couple seconds, I'm off to something else. I too found a Kellog's Lifeline once and I can do the same thing with a box of Hot Wheels. Definitely speeds up the browsing!
I never knew about the Baby Animal Canuck Exclusive--very cool! It's my understanding that the reason MB is being held up on DVD is because of the multiple uses of old films that they would incorporate into almost every episode, especially when Gonzo would open the closet door and Dracula or Gort would be in there--the copyrights would be a huge headache and the show had a pretty long run. I heard the same thing a few years ago about Wonder Years because of all the music from the time period that was used, but I think when they released it on DVD, some of the music was changed--an easier feat than changing out the images used in Muppet Babies I imagine.

Blame the sucky lawyers that were involved when the shows were being created, for not thinking ahead when drafting the original licensing contracts.

I loved the Muppet Babies as a kid. Heck, I still love the Muppets, and am having a blast watching Sesame Street again with my 1 1/2 year old. Definitely going to keep an eye out for minty ones and try to amass a set.

I have a few of these Muppet Babies in my loose toys box, they belonged to my younger brother. By the time they hit, I wasn't really playing with nor collecting toys any more. I'm trying to decide whether I give them back to him or keep them...

I remember those now that you mention it. Wendy's was my favorite fast food place as a kid. We had another place called Rax Roastbeef that was a couple buildings down and was my sister's favorite, so we would have to alternate going to one or the other. Rax was distinctive in that you would get a big chocolate chip cookie in your happy meal.

I think Burger King also had He-Man cups with little comics on the side, though I don't remember any toys associated with them.
Music rights also kept seasons of the Muppet Show from being released for eons, and my guess is that is the reason we still don't have season 4
