I bought this for my wife, and the batteries we're used and now have died. She was supposed to take them to the store to buy new ones, but has lost them! I contacted Sideshow and they don't know what the lantern batteries are.

Can someone tell me what type of batteries the lantern takes? Voltage, model number, anything that the battery says that would give away what they are?

if you saw it in person you would def change your mind. JS is one of my fav all time characters and I took everybody's word on how it looked in hand because the pics didn't look good at first. I think it's because of the way his head is turned is what makes it hard to capture but in person it is awesome.

I really wish I could see it somewhere in hand, because everytime I'm tempted to place an order for this, I look at the pics and just don't see JS in there.

yea i think they might of made him a bit too tan. Really wish I had it just so I could repaint it and see if more Jack/Depp comes out of it

Ok, the truth. It does NOT look like Johnny Depp in person. It looks better in person then the pics show but its not Depp. I said before that is probably an 85% likness to Depp so take that for what its worth. I will say though that it is a great overall Jack Sparrow figure and I am very glad I have it.

Thanks for your honesty regarding the likeness. I think I'll wait to see if SSC takes another shot at him, hopefully with a removeable head to make for an easier repaint.

@ Darth Madden: thank you for being honest about the likeness. It doesn't have to be perfect for me, I own several statues that don't have a perfect likeness which I'm very happy with.

I believe this is a statue that you have to see before it captures you. Hopefully I'll come around this in a store someday and be convinced. It's also not unlikely that we'll see another Jack somewhere in the future, as we have seen 3 Indiana Joneses as well.
