Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Really awesome announcement... I was hoping that DCD's mediocre statues were a sign we'd eventually get HT figures :rock :rock :rock

I'm very happy with my Joker figure, but I'll definitely upgrade Batman. I'd assume the suit would be similar to how they handled the Begins costume and will be awesome :rock :rock :rock

I wonder if Cocoboloboy's head has exploded yet after seeing this :lol

What is that on the right? Never heard of Captian Harlock. Looks cool though.

Edit: Apparently, it's from an anime. So there is their new anime figures!

Probably not many would get it, maybe they would, but I'd love if the trend continued and HT did Linda Carter Wonder Woman, of course that would just make me want all the classic TV heroes I grew up on done.

Linda Carter as Wonder Woman
Bill Bixby as David Banner
Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk
Adam West as Batman
Burt Ward as Robin
Juile Newmar as Catwoman
William Katt as The Greatest American Hero

Has there been official confirmation of the Keatonmobile or is that just an assumption?

It's all assumption. Batman seems like the only gauarantee because, why have a DX 1989 Batman Announcement and not do the title character, but Joker's speculation just because they had his photo posted with Batman's insted of just putting up a logo like some of the other licenses.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Where does it say it's a DX? It has the regular MMS logo.

Yeah it's an anime, Space pirates and what have you, but I think this particular announcement is for the upcoming CG movie which is supposed to launch a full CG series. The trailer looked pretty cool.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

My bad, at quick glance I only saw the yellow and thought it was the DX logo.

Either way, my point is, we can get excited that it's 1/6 figures and not cosbabies or something that would be dissappointing.

LOL can you imaging!! COSBABIES!! it would be the most disappointed thing since not revealing Christopher Reeve in this event!!:monkey2:pfft::gah:

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I've been in Batman 1989 mode for a few months. I'm sure you guys all remember that I thought that spoon/michael jackosn/Batman teaser was for '89 Batman and wouldn't shut up about it. Even changed my sig and avatar because of it.

Needless to say,

DO WANT

As soon as I saw that black and gold Bat logo in the booklet I nearly screamed like a little girl. I'm so excited. Then the Joker too? You better believe I buy a ton of them if there are multiple options.

Best news since The Terminator. I'm going into both lines head first.

Hot damn, it's finally happening.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Please include a premature balding Michael Keaton as Bruce wayne too.

Keaton wasn't balding. That was the style of the time. And I'm all in for a Keaton/ Bruce Wayne head. You can almost bet that a 'flesh' painted Joker head will come with the Nicholson figure. The 'water damage' Joker face from the museum would be a nice bonus!

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

lol i was joking, either way I'm getting these two.

I hope the batman and joker is the definitive version that they are going to make, and not release an even better set after the initial release of the first two figures.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Well, again, I'm going off what's been done in the past. Kenner even did Keaton's likeness on their Returns Wayne figure. As far as I know, there's never been an official product using Nicholson's likeness. Even DCD's '89 offerings were a Batman statue and bust, no Joker.

I hope HT does pull it off, I'd love a nice Nicholson Joker and it'd be reasonaly priced, even at $200. By the time you bought the bootleg figure and customized it to be worthwhile, that was pushing $300, I drew the line there, just not worth $300 to me.

Kenner did a Nicholson Joker likeness too. His mug is even on the cardback. To date he's had three figures that have utilized his likeness. Sky Escape Joker, Knock Out Joker (both from TDKC Kenner line) and a Kubrick (Medicom).

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Now just imagine if they do a 89 batmobile. DAMN!!!!

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I want this Look , god i hope they do it

Are those really his likeness? Kubrick?

I have the Kenner Jokers and they're a long way away from needing likeness rights beyond what Warners has just for the character in general.

Receding hairline, cheeks and smile? I see it. They're kind of cartoony but that's mostly due to the paint and eyes.

Now if I said the Toy Biz version, then yeah, that would be a stretch.
