You must not love your son very much!! No way would I put a family member through this junk.

:lol Wow.

Tom, at least promise us you'll purchase the tickets for another movie. Don't give a penny of your hard-earned money to this thing. :lecture

Wow. Looks like I can kick any shred of optimism I was keeping for this movie out the window, but I honestly can say that in a way I'm not a bit surprised. This ENTIRE endeavor of putting this film together was a complete hack job, from banging out a script before the writers strike began to the hiring of Sommers. What a shame.

^^^^^^ this stupid movie. Give me more Resolute!!! I hope in the next few years they can give GI Joe a reboot and get a writer and director who understand GI Joe.

We need a Producer who cares first. There will never be a chance for a decent JOE flick as long as that POS Lorenzo di Bonaventura is attached.

Corrected, and quoted for the truth ;)

As for the story being "debunked," it looks more to me like it was "spun" by damage control specialists at the studio than anything else. They maybe didn't "technically" fire the guy, but rather brought back in in a very superficial way in order to save face. The problem with this story is that it is so believable, that I'm gonna need more evidence than words from those with a vested interest in the success of the film before I believe otherwise.

Not like it really matters. Ultimately, all speculation and conjecture regarding the movie will be moot, and we will be able to judge it on its own merits.

That's a good idea--my son made me promise to take him and at his age, he won't care about the film's quality as long as stuff blows up. But I don't like the idea of supporting a crap movie's box office receipts...

Julie & Julia the Amy Adams, Meryl Streep film comes out the same day. I would gladly say I paid for a ticket to that estrogen fest then say I bought a ticket for GI Joe outright.

Let's copy Iron Man = acceleration suits

Let's copy Transformers = that shot of the Joes dodging missiles on the street

The fail of this movie is just epic... can't think of many films with a worse buzz going into it.

I did not "grow up" with the 12" / 1:6 GI JOE figures. I "grew up" with the 3.75" / 1:18 GI JOE RAH figures. I collected and read the GI JOE RAH comic books published by Marvel Comics from the early 80's to when it ended it's original run in the early 90's. I also "grew up" watching the cartoon series from the 80's.

I seriously doubt that the upcoming live action film will manage to pull off what TRANSFORMERS did a couple of years ago, but then again . . . who knows?

From what I've seen online and what I read online . . . I am not impressed and feel sad that such an iconic product/symbol from my younger years is being mishandled from a variety of parties.

AH, WELL . . .

Just my $.02, but . . .

Why couldn't tell simply use the original source material (i.e. GI JOE #1 (1982 Marvel Comics) where a scientist was kidnapped, the GI JOE team assembled/introduced, they set off to rescue the scientist, engage COBRA, rescue the scientist, and return home while COBRA regroups to fight another day against GI JOE? Granted, the plot can use some modernization since 1982.

Lol, kids gonna be scarred for life. Visions of a deformed being screaming "Cobra" with a fish tank on his head.
