Yeah a BD face plate with DX09 but in my opinion it was the weakest.
The neutral and smirk were almost perfection.

Yeah, I really like the new BD mouthplate.

I’m excited to pose him roughing up my DX08, since his mouth looks pretty close to this:

It’s a shame we couldn’t get an updated Nicholson too. The DX08 was incredible at the time, but he’s really showing his age now.

I agree for the most part. He holds up pretty well over all, specifically the outfit and accessories as even Mars couldn’t exactly replicate them years later. But, the hands he came with were pretty much useless. None of them hold anything exactly right. We could use an updated head and more accurate hat, too.

I'd love an updated hot toys nicholson

So, my ass is trying to prove a point to somebody. Am I crazy or did someone here butcher a DX 09 and overlay the armor plates over an actual bodysuit like in the movie? I could’ve sworn I saw it years ago, but I can’t remember.

I believe it was "Robbie the Painter" but he doesn't frequent these boards that much anymore from what I've seen. I believe he works for Laika Studios now (Coraline, Box Trolls, Kubo, Missing Link, Paranorman) so I imagine he's pretty busy over there.

I wish HT would've done that for this "2.0" though. However, at the time I brought it up, I got pushback that all rubber was better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

OR

Don’t buy from Sideshow or any e-tailer and just buy one on the secondary market for less than the MSRP (which usually has free shipping).
Has that been the case for more recent releases that went to waitlist? Keeping an eye on at least the OSR BST groups, you can tell where the line is between HT/Sideshow deciding to not produce/order as many as they usually do, and the more recent releases that have waitlisted before release are not available at msrp. Stock at third party distributers is a good indicator (BBTS comic concepts and such).

Recent example that spring to mind is the Amazing Spiderman 2 Andrew spidey. People that are having QC issues are being told that there are no more to swap to so they can return for a full refund and even timcent88 and the HK resellers are charging more than msrp. I don't follow HT releases too much since I'm not a Starwars fan and am pretty much done with marvel outside a select few. Looks like chromocop will be a similar story (depending on the number of cancellations for the color mismatch between proto and product).

Any better alternatives? I might bite if it’s getting down to the wire.
Only place I regularly order from that has it is undergroundfigures. Small discount over sideshow and no tax unless you are in the state they are in. Got black panther from them and it came quickly and well packed. I've only done one order through them so as always, do your due diligence.

You are right to be wary. Between oversauration of the market and a shift in the economy, there was absolutely a swing towards peg-warmers and deep discounts, and as a result prices all went down. Someone on the aftermarket couldn't sell a figure at a premium if it was sitting on Sideshow's website brand new for MSRP--or less, considering the deep-discount programs of the last few years. But Sideshow and HT aren't stupid--they aren't going to continue overproducing and overstocking. That correction is already being made. Aftermarket prices are dictated entirely by demand--and when the flood of overproduced figures ends, the demand and the prices will go back up.
