The shots inside some of those churches was amazing though. France is ugly though lol

JW3 is just an amazing looking film.
Ok yeah the church was amazing I agree there plus some of the vistas.

I loved the Osaka grounds and building until they got to the kitchen.

The overhead battle and Frogger roundabout were not done in previous films. Giant staircase was new, dueling pistols new, chasing Arabs on horseback new (lol) going all Gambit with playing cards was new. Lots of new stuff. I don't know how anyone could watch this and come away saying "same old same old but worse than previous films."
I say it because even though the staircase was new the action taking place was basically the same. Remove the cars in the roundabout and the action was the same… I just did not care for the reliance of the bulletproof vest so much in this one either… did the other films do that as much.

Chasing Arabs on hourseback, gambit cards, dueling pistols… are not what I would call action set pieces. JW riding a horse was done much better in 3 by the way.

Tell me one action scene in this film that isn’t topped by another in one of the other films. Hell I would argue the fight choreography in 3 tops all of it. Remember the cool fight with the big guy in the library in 3? Much better than golden teeth kingpin.
I'm just going to assume that this is one of those deals where you criticize a movie until you see it a second time and then recognize the error of your ways. ;)

I agree that taken as one giant 10 hour story or however long the combined movies are then it would have been nice to see some things get resolved like certain characters reappearing or his car or ring or what have you. But still I maintain that overall JW4 was an amazing film in and of itself and that as the probable end to the series it satisfyingly resolved the butterfly effect of his life becoming unraveled due to the kid first messing with him in JW1.

But the things that didn't see closure were all pretty minor IMO and nowhere near Hulk not getting a rematch with Thanos or "Rey I've got something important to tell you" levels of unresolved threads, lol.
Again didn’t hate the film. It’s just the least in the series IMO.

Had the action or story ( did not have to be both) topped the other films I would have been happy

Yeah i’m kind of confused why JAWS went off the rails on this one I was thoroughly convinced while watching it that JAWS was fist pumping in enjoyment like you and I were.

JAWS was derailed like a chemical train in Ohio delivering junk bonds from a defunct savings and loan lol

JAWS must think that it was Jonathan Minor that got arrested. :rotfl

I’m sad that it did not happen

My best friend had the same reaction. He also said he made the mistake of watching part 3 the same day. He thought the action outshined 4 also. He had many of the same issues I did.

So did Ben Shapiro. Apparently I have the same taste as a conservative Jewish man :lol

Because Khev said that you are focusing too much on the minor problems and not looking at the bigger picture of the overall quality you know the whole missing the forest looking for the trees or in your case looking for Aurelio lol

Since you are ignoring the major for the minor I said Jonathan Minor instead of Major lol

Well like I said earlier there's good reason for any of the four to be ranked above any of the others by any given person.

That triple combo of Osaka, Berlin and Overhead scene elevated it above 3 for me which was my favorite.

Then when you add in all of the other bonkers stuff it seals the win.

I loved the Bond elements!

Plus Spaghetti Western lite lol

I totally agree 3 is very close but all those elements put 4 over the top.

JAWS JAWS JAWS…

Sorry for my delay I had to go earn money lol

Ok I will agree with JAWS on the Tracker guy he could be cut out. I didn’t hate him he had some cool scenes but ultimately not needed.

That is where my agreement with JAWS ends lol

Yes I missed not seeing Auriello (that dude is a whiner in real life btw lol) and Sofia but there was enough greatness that made up for it plus Winston got an extended role that was really well written especially considering the you know what.

I will hold my ground that it has the best shoot out in cinema history, the best use of “bass” in cinema history and some of the best action set pieces in cinema history.

Now I know Jaws shook his head when I brought up Die Hard 1 and of course I will always love Die Hard 1 as it is also in my top 10 but I never said that this movie was completely better than Die Hard what I said was that Die Hard has an absolutely better narrative focus but that JW4 easily surpasses Die Hard in the action department. You know that to be the truth.

Now can we all just agree already that civilians ignoring the battles out in public proves that this movie is a damn Matrix sequel!

During the France roundabout literally every civilian was just oblivious to the battle taking place!

Pennywise dude was The Merovingian lol

C’mon I bet the telephone data center with their analog lines is Zion! :panic:

JAWS just remember you disliked JW2 initially.

John and Neo have a similar fate and both The Matrix and the High Table are a system of control that can't be destroy by Neo or John, despite both having that goal and believing they could before learning that it can't be done. By the end of Matrix Revolutions, Neo makes a deal with the Matrix to fight for them in exchange for the peace and the release of the humans that wanted freedom. Similarly, John, having learned that he can't beat the High Table, makes a deal that gets he and Cain their freedom and Winston the life he wanted. Both Neo and John "died", but perhaps they're out there, and they'll return one day.

This movie was amazing! The ending was perfect imo, I will say one of thee things that got me so hyped when watching it besides all the action was when he was trying to get to the church and it's literally doing a full scene in reference to The Warriors with the Radio hostess calling out John and playing the same theme but remixed a bit. Man that got me jumping in joy. Lmao
Oh I didn’t think he needed to die at the end. Tuco didn’t.. this trio was missing “the bad” part and I was good with that.

I just would have liked to see a bit more with the forced team ups.

He didn't. The conversation between The King and Winston at his grave stone made that clear. The question about heaven/hell alludes to the question of if Wick will be at peace, not living "the life of an assasin". The Marquis told him during the film that he could not stand retirement. Now his friends/allies are asking if he was right. Also, the John Wick movies are not told as "actual events", they are a fable. The legend of John Wick. It's very meta that they talk about John Wick as the Baba Yaga, a folk tale, because the filmmakers are tellingt US a folk take themselves. That's why we can forgive the over-the-top action, and accept the punishment Wick can take. John Wick is the tale of Keiser Soze drawn out over several movies.
