If the weathering bothers the majority of you, then just remove it when you get yours I'm sure a bit of 50% alcohol or something can remove most of it without damaging the chrome paint. I might be tempted to do it myself but I'll probably be happy with it as is. You can also probably dye the suit brown using rit dye. Overall though this is a better figure then the previous two (though those are still pretty good) it will be an awesome piece to have on shelf.

I guess, arguments about screen accuracy aside, it's subjective and down to preference whether you like the heavy weathering or not.

That is factor is not knowing what will work well with the chrome paint. I'm sure someone will post how they removed the weathering without compromising the chrome paint. For now I'm ok with how he looks, I do think it's also since the deluxe is supposed to be specifically after he gets ambushed and the swoop bike is destroyed he has grime from the fall he takes in that scene.

i order from sideshow 90+% of the time, and usually am fine with “it’ll get here when it gets here”

… yet with this figure, which is essentially just a repaint / upgrade of two figures i own already, im sitting here like “ok what are my options to get this even sooner”

I can wait, while I figure out how to pay for that swoop bike. The first vid did me in with all the poses.

And I'll be able to slap the sculpt on V2 of course. Hadn't realized the capes were different e.g. there's enough differences for me to be happy about owning 3 versions - all have been excellent releases IMO. Still need Kuill.

Desperately trying to keep costs down and am terrified Season 3 will bring something like a 1/6 mythosaur that is a must have.

Poor Finn, by comparison. Just didn't get that badass physical training pushing a mop I guess. Staggers miles across the desert, dropping bits as he goes, only to have to compete for water with a gigantic pig, and then gets smacked around.

Then here's Mando stoically backpacking a small child, a set of armor, and 50 lbs of meat, doesn't even ask for a drink, and is able to hold a conversation without breathing hard.

Just goes to show, just because you have armor, doesn't mean you'll get the girl in the end. Like Mando got the girl and he didn't even take his helmet off.

Meanwhile, the age old question, how fast do I pay this off, 'coz it looks like an awesome release.

Nice figure. HS turned out better than I expected. Hoeever weathering is too much. Almost at Captain Phasma level. So, I am grateful to HT since they didn't make me regret skipping this one and waiting for all Beskar iteration.

I seem to recall people trying that with Phasma, but the weathering was too well sealed in (unlike, say, the weathering on Sideshow R2 which was incredibly easy to remove). And I don't recall ever seeing a clean version of Phasma.

I seem to recall people trying that with Phasma, but the weathering was too well sealed in (unlike, say, the weathering on Sideshow R2 which was incredibly easy to remove). And I don't recall ever seeing a clean version of Phasma.

Then it could be more challenging to remove it. Only other thing that can be done is a full repaint or new armor pieces.

I don't know if it's like a model kit where gloss black is applied first, then chrome paint and a clear coat over that...maybe the weathering is applied before the final clear coat, if so it would be very hard to remove.

Yeah not so sure. I hope I'm not underwhelmed in hand. I will say this is starting to light a fire under me for possibly painting up my own.

I seem to be in the minority on two counts: (1) I like the weathering. It looks gritty and lived in. I dig. (2) The portrait to me looks as much like Marlon Brando as it does Pedro Pascal, which is weird.

I get your point but I hate that heavy weathering. This figure seems to represent the way Mando looked at the end of the Tattooine episode rather than representative of cleaner look over the whole of the season.
Someone suggested the deluxe version is meant to represent Mando at the start of ep2 where he's trudging through the desert carrying Boba's armour. That would match up with the accessories of the deluxe set.
If that was the case, then the standard might have cleaner armour, as it lacks some of those episode specific accessories.
That's probably a naive hope though.
Are there any examples of a standard and deluxe varying in such a big way as paint or weathering application?
