Black Panther actor dies of cancer not allowed to be recasted. A BIG NO NO!!! HUGE DISRESPECT TO THE ACTOR AND HIS FAMILY!!

Thunderbolt Ross actor dies of cancer and is instantly recasted lol

Marvel….W DA F!

I was an MCU fanatic.

From IM1 to EG I was at the first preview opening thursday night screenings and no movie from IM1 to EG was seen in the theater less than twice some 3 and 4x!

I own all the 4K steelbooks AND 3D versions of every movie from IM1 to EG!

MCU phase 4 has completely lost me lol

There is nothing for me to hang onto and care about or be invested in.

It is nothing but a nonsensical nebulous multiverse.

A BIG MEH!

That's pretty much where I'm at. I saw most of them in theaters midnight/early screenings and then a couple times more with friends later for most of them.

Consolation prize is it set a nice stopping point for my MCU collection (with a couple exceptions). Wish I enjoyed any of the new stuff as much, but its all been pretty lackluster. Kind of a bummer, but it is what it is I guess.

I get the sense that the general audience is still catching up a bit in this respect, but the fatigue will continue to set in I imagine.

My friends and I pretty much feel the same. Used to be midnight release at the IMAX, now we just don’t even bother going release week sometimes nevermind the first showing.

Just so disinterested and apathetic towards everything they’re doing.

Couldn’t care less about multiverses, it’s a cheap gimmick that allows them to do things that have little in universe consequence such as killing off big name characters.

Apathetic. That's how I feel with the MCU now as an entire franchise. There are parts of Phase 4 I loved, warts and all, and other parts I feel are almost unwatchable. That's something I feel almost all can agree on, it's just different movies fall into those different categories depending on the person. I haven't watched a second of Black Panther footage and have no interest in watching the full 2 hour 41 minute movie in theatres.

It'll be on Disney+ in two months anyway.

The novelty wore off for me after the first Avengers movie. I thought it was "neat" to see Iron Man, Cap, Thor, and the Hulk in (more or less) live action together on screen. (I still consider Hulk a cartoon, so he's not exactly live action.)

That was it. It was neat. The story was nothing special.

I also enjoyed Infinity War, but I thought Endgame was too stupid for words. I've also stated my favorite scene in almost all the movies was them partying in Age of Ultron, and I want to see a movie of just Tony and Thor and Steve drinking and joking around. It was fun. The rest of the movie was boring.

I think I saw.....two MCU movies in the theater? I own none of them.

As neat as it is for a few minutes to see big Hollywood actors playing my beloved childhood heroes, the novelty wore off really quickly for me. If you told me in 1991 that someday I'd see a Deadpool and Cable movie with relatively authentic costumes, I'd had peed my pants right on the spot. But by the time it finally happened, I was waaay over it. I'd rather go back and flip through the old Liefeld originals than watch the movie. Same with my Iron Man and Captain America comics.

Having said all that, at least Iron Man thru Endgame featured the A-list characters. This Phase 4 **** is pathetic. I can't imagine anyone other than the Eric Butts-es of the world even giving a crap.

If you love Dr. Doom, just be glad he's not in this garbage. Go back and enjoy him the way he was meant to be, on the printed page.

Well, to be fair....

One just became a cultural icon...

The other was a pasty old white dude.

:monkey3

I'm still sad that Garry Shandling died and nobody seemed to care.

I thought he played a greasy, slimy corrupt Senator perfectly.

I loved No Way Home but it cheated through nostalgia bait so it doesn’t really count.

Was loving Shang Chi until it turned into a Marvel movie, with a big CGI monster fight

They thought they were doing something virtuous and Nobel but they really just showed clear bias. It looks bad on them tbh

Exactly.

Just embrace the nihilism, like I have.

Nothing matters anymore. We're all gonna die. Our collections are beyond worthless. The only thing that's gonna be valuable in the coming years is gonna be drinking water and ammunition. All the rest is trash.

My only solace is in knowing that I'm such a fat, out of shape wretch that I'll be one of the first to go, and my body will feed a decent sized family for a little while.

I'm actually starting to get a little impatient. Kinda wish the apocalypse would just hurry up and start already.
Holy screaming eagle ****. You must be fun at parties. :cautious:

Well you know what I’ll say it I was never a huge mcu fan.

I don’t know why people were so happy about it. When it started all the main marvel cast was scattered throughout other studios and they didn’t want to give up the rights. There was a time when Spider-Man was said to never be in the mcu, there was a time when xmen and the ff and its characters were being held prisoner by fox.

Then Disney erased and rewrote canon to fit those movies. I remember that horrible inhumans push they tried. They wanted to bury the xmen . It was disrespectful. I remember everyone acting like the marvel universe was fine with just the avengers and that it didn’t need any of its major players. Then people acted like these once b lost characters were always better than the characters that started everything.
I didn’t like the tumblr “fans” who were mostly girls freaking out about Loki and the others and making every character into a gay ship. Crying about how black widow was to sexualized.

So yea the mcu for me was always just meh. It was always this broken universe that didn’t feel like a marvel universe but an avengers universe.

I grew to love it more when spidey and black panther joined.
