As often reported in the past, first orders will get replacement and people ordering down the line will likely be offered partial or full refunds depending on the issue.

They let you keep the broken one? They made me send the whole thing back.

The replacement figure I got is fine right now, and I've been using that joint a lot too. Feels like a ticking time bomb, now.

Are they clothed? I know you mentioned in your video that the boots and gauntlets couldn't be removed from the body. Glad I didn't buy these. I have the SS Dirty Harry on order, I wonder if I should cancel now?
The shirt is glued on at the crotch and the boots & gauntlets are on pegs (vary secure). I imagine the replacement body will include shirt, pants, gauntlets and boot tops, as they are a nightmare to remove.

Thanks for the info. Are these bodies specific to just the CW line or are they being used for other lines that SS is doing like the Clint Eastwood line?

These bodies are quite specific to the Clone Wars figures since they have unique proportions to try to match the animation. The Clint Eastwood figures are using the current, more standard, SS bodies based on what I can tell from pics. The Eastwood figures will more than likely be using bodies like what's been used on the Big Lebowski (minus the padded fat suit) or say comic Gambit like below. Maybe they'll have ankle extenders to be a little taller but otherwise, they'll probably be the bodies pictured below.

There is some reuse. The shoulders, biceps, groin, thighs look the same as the Mythos Fett. The forearms and shins look like retooled versions of previous parts. It’s definitely not a completely new body part for part.

Is there much point? If I were a betting man I’d be all in on the replacement bodies having the same issues.
Yea, I would say either the same issues or even possibly worse. My SS R2D2 was cool for the first few minutes, then I ran into some problems, got a replacement and that one was worse than the first one I had so I just got a refund instead.

Thanks, that's a bit of a relief.

Sideshow is going to send me a replacement body for Anakin. I have my doubts that it’ll be any kind of improvement over the previous body.
I fashioned a custom body that I didn’t have to worry about floppy and disintegrating joints. I wanted to keep the arms, shins and neck, as those would be the hardest to replace. Sideshow bodies are an oddity of engineering. It’s not easily interchangeable with body parts from other manufacturers. To get to and use the parts I needed, most of the rest had to be destroyed.
-VTS chest rig, arms joints, widened the opening to fit the Sideshow arms. Cut rubber chest overlay.
-Hot Toys abdomen, groin and thighs.
-Sideshow inner neck peg, joint, neck overlay, arms, knees and shins.
Neck is now articulated and shoulders have extra (up & down) movement. He’s just a tad taller as well.

With HT Anakin shoulder armor. Just a little to big.

(With the more show accurate skirt price of course)
How hard would it have been to include a few extra parts to give us both looks? That may have gone some way to justifying the unreasonable price tag.

As is, someone could 3D print a set of armour and make a few bob- given that enough people bothered picking up the figure to begin with.

So much potential squandered with sideshow in every area of their 1/6 developments. What a sham company.

It’s sad to me that the same issues from when I started collecting from sideshow (2015?), are still forever present in each and every new release.

They clearly get enough feedback to try and fix or make improvements with all these common issues. And yet, they don’t. And they Jack the price up, and try to silence you if you bring it up.

You would think that a line like CW would be pure cash flow for them if they just made a effort.

I remember liking the clones, but I read they had HT bodies back then, so I guess that would explain that if so.

Just seems predatory at this point to me

I have an older, Nathan Drake body I hadn’t used. When I went looking around in that figure, to see if there were any compatible parts I could use for this conversion , I found damage. The hard plastic inner structure had cracks in and in some places chunks had come off but were held in place, glued to the outer rubber. It’s seems like a much stronger plastic too.

And that cost 160$, so for a 100$ more you can get the timeless sideshow quality body in a clone wars figure 🤌
