Completely agree, logically I should like him more than I do as I really enjoy all his movie and cameos - but in reality he is my least favourite in the role.
I have no idea why tbh - I think that I am a little put off by his whole "Iron Man junior" arc and his "jee gosh sir" mannerisms. I feel like it diminishes him somehow?
Hard to explain.
I think you explained it well as those are my issues with Holland's Spiderman as well. Hopefully though, now that everyone (in the MCU) has forgotten him and he no longer has access to Stark tech, he won't be so junior Iron Man but more Spiderman that we know in the comics.

For now though, Andrew Garfield is my current favorite live action but that doesn't mean I don't like Maguire's version. Just like it slightly less than Andrew's. I played those original Raimi Spiderman games like crazy though back in the day :lol

For some strange reason, Holland is also my least favorite peter parker, even though he has had the better movies overall. I also like his guest shots, but still last of the 3.
It’s not strange. He’s ok but not really a definitive Spider-Man. He relies to heavily on technology, he feels like a sidekick, his supporting cast is annoying, uncle Ben seems like he doesn’t play a part in his life and all his villains are just dudes angry at stark so they don’t even feel like his villains

Also I love raimi Spider-Man . Andrew spidey is ok. His Spider-Man was hood but his Peter Parker I didn’t like.

I’m morbidly curious if the Tobey headsculpt (if one is included) is a repaint from the Spider-Man 3 version. That seems like a very “Hot Toysy” thing to do, at this point. 😄

The backlash from the fanbase will be legendary if they dare to do something like that... I'm almost tempted to hope they do just to watch them eventually have to change it.

The web in the middle of the nose between the eyes looks terrible on that proto.

The one at the Asian convention looked a lot better.

Very excited to preorder this. Apparently the reason andrew spidey didn't go up is because it's now under NWH so I'm sure they'll give new promo updates and a new sculpt when going up for preorder.

Idk if this version looks slightly different or if its the pose but I feel like they still have a little bit of work to do to. My gut feeling is both aren't close to being done so they just threw up the old Andrew figure and are showing a WIP of Tobey

First I noticed, the middle web is really weird. The other figure looks on point, I hope that's the one they're going with.

I'm kind of getting tired of Hot Toys making Spider-Man figure after Spider-Man figure that can barely bend at the waste and can't get their hips past 90 degrees at best. If they wanted to go out of their way to make every Spider-Man suit under the sun, it would have been nice if they'd put some engineering effort into creating a modified male body with more flexibility than what a standard off the shelf body can achieve.

The physique just doesn't do it for me. Torso feels too long and wide, arms and legs too scrawny. Not the home run it could've been.
