Dang bro that sucks. I’d be upset no doubt. It may not have been malicious intent from KG but for expedited shipping and a damaged box like that shows up it’s an instant return in my book. I get the scarcity of the figure which makes getting a replacement almost impossible is the trade off. I’d atleast ask for money compensation and deal with a provider that ships in a double box moving forward even if cost is more. I’m done w KG too after this. My 2 Cloud and Daytonas came in good shape with some imperfections/dents on the boxes but I guess that’s normal from all videos I see. I don’t think I’ve seen one brown Gametoys box in Mint condition (all have some kind of crease or slight dents from what I have seen). Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
Actually I have a brown box in absolute mint condition belonging to Sephiroth. Its not even a single tiny scratch on it. I ordered from Sugotoys, they are great, plus super kind and helpful. They pack in dubble boxes.
But then theres just so much a seller can do to protect the goods, even with great care boxes can still be ripped to shreds by our "lovely" shipping companies. Im an artist and send a lot of my works all over the world, I take the outmost care when I pack and yet the boxes get demolished more times than not and thats all because of how the shipping companies manhandle everything they touch without a care in the world.

i could sell a way more than i paid for it? hum i think you are dreaming.
And even if this were true, it would only apply to the Cloud because it has become rare.
But what if the same thing happened with other, more commonplace figures? They would lose a lot of value.

Without boxs (or with boxs really damaged like mine) there is a big impact on the price, it's a fact.
And with box in good condition it's 100% sure that i could sell it way more than with my actual boxs, especially this Cloud.
I really don't understand your reasoning especially considering the extra price i paid for the transport.

You know i order a lot since years, and it's rare that i received damaged box even in France because it's rare that i received something via EMS/DHL (wich are not serious)
i didn't choose this shipment method it was imposed to me without me knowing and i paid more than double price for this... You saw the result.
The least that could have been done would have been to armor the package, especially knowing the incompetence of these modes of transport, but no the minimum was not done and even worse with the treatment of the box of my bike as I described.

But anyway as I said for more than a year my receptions with KGH are complicated, whereas with the other stores I have no problem and I don't receive damaged boxes whereas they also comes from HK too, how do you explain that? How do others do it?

And how do you also explain the fact that KGH send me some boxes already damaged in his hand before to ship? Are you going to defend him on this too?

Anyway you do what you want, I'm not inciting anyone I'm just telling my experience, which has deteriorated at KGH since 2021, whereas before everything was fine.
I'm a very good customer of KHG since years, I don't understand how this can happen.

Yes imperfections/dents on the boxes are acceptale, it depends on the degree of damage and and the efforts the seller has made to protect them (or not like for me..)
And for you, KGH used the Bike's Box customized as shipping box too like he did for me?
They sent me clouds in a bubble wrap only. The bike was also sent in bubble wrap. My Sephiroths were sent in like a black plastic wrap only. Luckily they survived. Some boxes have corner damage from shipping but nothing crazy like yours. They did not open my box bike and stuff the cloud in there. That is crazy I’d be livid if that happened to me.

You raise a fact about shipping companies.

No matter how well packed/protected shipments are, there are time when some arrive with the box/packaging very beaten up to the point of damaging the interior box/packaging and even the contents.

However, it's obvious certain vendors do take the "cheap" route when it comes to packaging shipments to save on their cost of shipping while still charging customers a higher/inflated shipping price. This is the kind of questionable business practice that needs to be called out when it occurs. Blatant poor packaging regardless of excuses/explanation cannot be accepted as is.

I completely agree. Its one thing if the vendors have packed carefully, like in dubble boxes, with extra stuffing like packing peanuts etc and the shipment still arrives beaten. Then you can clearly see they tried and its the shipping companies fault. However its a completely different thing if the shipment arrive beaten up and you can see the vendor havnt even tried at all (or very poorly) to apply any proper protection. That is inexcusable, especially in cases when you have paid a lot of money for shipping, like with these figures. Plus the vendors should very well be aware that they are collectors objects that customers will want as intact as possible.

I ended up cancelling my TW order last week when they said it would be delayed till April/May. Started to feel like it's not going to happen. If they have some magic stock coming from somewhere, great, I'll take the hit to not support them anymore. I just got confirmation the money is being refunded (not just their word).

Kit went absolutely above and beyond and had a Cloud shipped to him from a completely different city, verified quality, and then sent out to me. Unfortunately, a little over twice what I had originally paid, but him doing this for me was incredible and definitely speaks for his character.

I want to say this was an expensive lesson learned but I don't really have much takeaway. Back in February or March last year when I pre-ordered Cloud I hadn't really heard of much issue with TW. I'd watched some of Justin's videos and assumed they were reputable for a third party pickup. But, here we are now. Sucks.

All my future business will be with OSK or Giantoys. Kit is even working on payment plan options if that interests you (mentioned a few pages back).

Hoping to see more aerith pics soon
Say no more fam I got you covered

Ok thanks for your answer.
So he doesn't even pack the same for everyone, that's unacceptable.
I would have clearly preferred that he send it to me the same way he did it for you, there would have been less risk and the box of my bike would not have been totally ruined before shippement.
Moreover I sent him 3 emails before he sent it to make sure he would do the right thing and that he would protect it as much as possible, he didn't care about me at all......

Looks great, the material they're using for her jacket looks good for the scale. Could see myself getting her to go with AC Cloud if only to recreate this:

EDIT: lmao obviously not, it's a statue. At least my wallet is safe for now.

it's better than anything out there but it seems like a rubbery material to me? Most of it looks like it's just sculpted, even the dress.

So the Aerith statue was an April fools. Was the head sculpt also part of that? The cut at the neck had me convinced.

Yea that sucks man. I don't understand it. You would think they would ship exactly the same. That goes to show you what type of operation they are running over there. I won't be back to KG after this. TBH the best company ever for collectibles is BigBadToyStore.com but they don't offer any 1/6 Gametoys. Those guys ship with care and love and wouldn't even dare sending you a sub standard package unless it was heavily discounted and you agreed to it.

With all of the things people have been saying about KGHobby, I decided to cancel the order for a refund. The thing is, they said that they will refund me but nothing has happened for two days and its already marked as refunded on their store page. Nothing pending on paypal or on my bank. Getting kind of nervous.
