I don’t think Hot Toys has much to worry about given that:

1. the Queen Studios stuff will be limited edition runs

2. only available in certain markets unless you can find an importer (which will add to the cost)

3. will likely be significantly more expensive, especially when they get into the “artist edition” variants

4. Isn’t going to be offering 50 figures a year but probably a half-dozen at best.

It’s great to have more players in the game but this Queen Studios stuff is not going to be a serious option for most people given these factors. At most a person might be able to supplement their Hot Toys collection with one or two Queen Studios figures.
Good points.

But if Hot Toys doesn’t do a reissue of the DX11 there’s gonna be tons of them on the aftermarket to fund this one. Especially for the price they’re going for now.

I'm thinking this will be the case. HT started out with a limited amount of figures too. Best to get the ones you do make right. Batman might be the only interest I have from this company.

Well there won’t be “tons” of people trading up if say the artist’s edition with rooted hair is a limited run of 300 (like their quarter-scale statue was), and they all get sold out in Queen Studio’s home market.

Hot Toys is due for a new Joker of their own, and hopefully this leads them to step up their game instead of doing a half-assed 2.0 like they did with Begins Batman and Dark Knight Rises Catwoman. I could see Queen’s offerings leading Hot Toys to feel compelled to offer deluxe editions with additional head sculpts and other premium touches.

Yeah, it will not hurt HT, because they're the Mcdonald's or the Disney of 1/6 figures, but as far as quality or reputation, they could take a hit. In the sense that HT might not be seen as THE high end 1/6 collectible company. They're still the biggest company, with the biggest licenses, and great quality, but they might be like the Rolex of 1/6 scale, while Queen might be the Patek Philippe, meaning, higher quality and prices, and more limited by comparison.

Get ready for every new Hot Toys announcement thread to be flooded with “Queen Studios would have never blah blah blah” 🤪

That'd be fine with me. I complete my big displays with my HT, and keep QS/JND for those high-end select few. HT is still realistic, if QS takes it to 11, HT doesn't become a 6. I'd love to have my Top 10 in UltraMegaGiga Quality, but I can't be going around completing dolly displays with 600$ figures. It'd be a best of both worlds to have "great" and "excellent" as choices. Two display "areas" so to speak.

I want Reloaded Neo. I preordered a 1/12 scale Reloaded Neo in the meantime.
Same. I have no interest in any other version.

I'd be fine with such a model.

My thoughts exactly. These will not make a dent in HT's bottom line. They make all that up with an IM repaint.

This looks amazing, I hope it's not to hard to get, Ledger Joker is what got me back in to collecting.

These figures might also not even be so limited. Their high end statues having a limited edition size doesn't have anything to do with how their 1/6 figure will fair. They do 1/1 scale, 1/3 scale statues so of course those aren't gonna be massed produced in huge numbers, no statue company does in that scale.
It's completely different when they get to producing 1/6 scale figures. They can mass produce these to much greater quantity. It's too early to tell but I don't see them doing 300 edition sizes or anything that low at all.

Exactly. I don’t know why some people are speculating that these would be limited or even region specific.

Until QS/IA make a definitive statement, there’s no reason to doubt these would be released WW.

Queen don't even do that limited runs so I wouldn't worry. If you want overpriced action figures then you will be able to get these

JND might pull the low ES though....

Exactly. But hopefully it will effect Hot Toys in other ways,

1). Speed to market post prototype release. 2 years is almost a standard now. That's not OK.
2). Product Quality. Can always be better and offer better accessories and / bases.
3). Just lift their game generally after complacency has got the better of them.

I pretty much dropped out of 1/6th a while ago. I can't remember the last time I bought a Hot Toys. Probably before they started doing something with the Star Wars license.

But I gotta have that Joker.
