^ looks great. what mods did you put into that Eaglemoss? and how much extra were the mods and what was it all-in (not including time)?

Thank you!

I don't remember everything. But the biggest mods were:

Flux Capacitor from Shapeways 140 EUR.
Tree/SID from Modelmodz 90 EUR
EL wire mod kit from Modelmodz 110 EUR
Power mod from Modelmodz 60 EUR
Time circuits mod from Shapeways 55 EUR
Wireless remote board with speaker and SD card slot from dk MOD 120 EUR (yes, my car can play bttf soundtrack in mp3 :ROFLMAO:)
Dayton switch from dk MOD 65 EUR

That's a total of 640 EUR.

The time has been priceless. But it was lots of fun!

thanks it really looks unreal.

and i love how the NECA figures look in it. fit with no problems. and that shocked/worried Doc head sculpt is hysterical.

i think its goofy HT Doc is a very tight fit in the HT Delorean. i asked in the other thread if HT Einstein fits in the the Delorean with the door shut? He looks like he'll be a tight fit as well...if he even fits.

so far these are the comparisons i've seen on the web. Hot Toys 1/6 vs Eaglemoss 1/8:

The result is impressive. It's heavy. About 8 kg. The quality is high. It doesn't feel cheap at all. But it's a long and expensive road.

If you just started it, don't forget to check out these companies for mods before you finish the build. Especially for the electric parts.

You can change it to part 2 look. But it has the same position problem with the wheels like Hot Toys.

Since it's scaled 1/8, Hot Toys figures are too big.
You can use the Neca figures, but they are a bit too small.

I finished mine with some mods. And I am really happy with it.
Thank you guys you were helpful! I think I'll stick with my eaglemoss. I'm ready to sacrifice some quantity for the quality. Plus i can even mod it and extra plus i really enjoy assembling it. 😁
Now the long trip...

I've watched endless reviews on the first Delorean on YouTube and come close to buying at crazy prices as I never thought we'd see this!
Whilst the car isn't perfect- this is the only BTTF Part II 1/6 Delorean we'll see, so I've preordered.

Let's hope they correct at least the position of the wheels in hover mode- it would seem the simplest thing to amend without changes to the main chassis.

I’m still waiting for some reward points to drop from a few recent purchases before I lock this one in.

Anyone know of display cases that would work for this? Ordering custom cases appears to run at around ~$300

Here you go:

Personally though, I don't use cases to display my 1/6 vehicles including the Delorean since it obstructs the view, I've been keeping the car and both Batmobiles on display desks for a couple of years now.

Ordered. At some point I'll need to get the upgrade decals to make the both this one and the original a bit more screen accurate. I'm not really a stickler for that sort of thing, but the wheel decals does make it look nicer.

So, I collect a lot of JazzInc displays (in addition to making my own) and they were planning to offer the Delorean until HT made their announcement. It was a huge bummer since it is a foregone conclusion that HT will not come anywhere near the same quality that JazzInc would have achieved (though, it also would have been more expensive. so there's that).

Still, I really wanted this car for the collection and missed out on the original release so I PO'd it with fingers crossed. It may be naive of me, but I am hoping that this is not just a straight up re-issue and that there is some effort put into improvements. I mean, HT seems obsessed with producing the most realistic figures on the market (even at the expense of longevity), so why wouldn't they apply the same goals to their vehicles?

If they don't fix the doors, that would be a huge shame - Apart from the wheels, it's the only major moving part and is likely to get a fair amount of use, so having something that will hold up to regular manipulation is really a requirement. That said, I suppose I'll cross that bridge when it becomes a problem.

Knowing that the dashboard on this HT version still won't light up (something that would never fly at JazzInc), I'm hoping that someone out there develops a mod as the idea of stickers on a model of this price point is truly annoying. I'm even okay with the wheels as they are since I don't plan to display it in flight mode (though, if this changes at some future point, the wheels will instantly become another thing that annoys me).

Anyway, if you're listening Hot Toys, consider this vehicle your test - it's your vehicle against what JazzInc would have produced. I'll cut you some slack since your version costs several hundred dollars less than Joost's would have, but if you're going to produce something to go with your figures, it should match the quality of those figures - swing for the fences or get out of the way for those who will.

For all the the criticisms that Jazzinc got that they won't turn up a premium product, it seems Hot Toys attempt at this wasn't well regarded either. Both companies have short comings from what I'm gathering here but like I said, a competition between 2 companies for the same product only benefits us consumers. Jazzinc may not be able to compete in price had they decided to pursue a 1/6 license for the Delorean but it will definitely give them a chance to produce a better product than the original release and one that reflects their asking price. Hot Toys can either improve upon their own work as well as Jazzinc tends to give updates on the features of their product or just release it as close to the original version without improvements. Consumers will have a choice between the 2.

Unfortunately, that won't be the case.

You are completely out of your mind delusional. The V1 HT Delorean is 10 times better than what Jazzinc would have come through with. I don't want to be too hard on Jazzinc because I do admire what they do but they are nowhere near HT level of quality and polish. There have been numerous problems with Jazzinc stuff from the sloppy paint on down to major design flaws. There is simply no comparison.

This is exactly why i was dissapointed. Their attention to detail and expertise of their figures lead me to think the same care and attention would traverse to the delorean and it didnt. From the promo pics of the pt2 delorean, it appears its a straight up reissue with a few extra lights and folding wheels. All the flaws of the first release are still present here. the lights never really bothered me as i knew i would hardly ever display it lit up (i had a fully enclosed display unit). I wanted better accuracy.

I would advise anyone to get the goodyear tyre decals. Just adding them improves the look considerably.

Moducase df120 is what could work, a bit short of 300 but not by much

Here's a picture of the Batmobile in a Moducase DF120 (Batmobile measures almost 3 feet), it might give you an idea of the proportions. You can have one custom made, if you like. I absolutely love those Moducase displays and the people manufacturing them are awesome to deal with.

It's probably been said, but I can't believe HT actually did this. Nice to see them using a USB cable instead of batteries. I don't collect 1/6 vehicles as I have zero room for them, but can't wait to see how this turns out.

I don't know if it's that clear cut. There were obviously some compromises made with the Cockpit, but their BvS Batmobile looks pretty damn amazing from all the pics and reviews I've seen, and the 66 is shaping up really well so far too. And people have already pointed out the numerous issues and lack of accuracy with the HT DeLoreans. The HT might be more "polished" being a mass-produced product, but that doesn't matter much if it still comes across looking pretty cheap in some places.

Is the DF120 the case where you could theoretically fit two 1/6 vehicles in the same case (with the shelf in the middle)?

I bought some MAX cases during the end of 2020 - it took about 14-months before they arrived in the LA port to be ready to shipped to me.

Due to various reasons, I ended up deferring my paid order last month so ModuCase ended up fulfilling other collector's orders.

Hopefully the turnaround is shorter now, as I probably will put in my request again.
