They realize the director is actually the writer and comes up with scenes and dialogue? Okaaaay….

Genuinely, I wonder if it’s a cult of personality thing that Jon Favreau can do no bad?

No. The director realizes it… as in they are the ones responsible for taking whats written and presenting that visually.

Why do people blame directors for what the writer writes? Strange
Oh there is plenty of blame to go around. But the direction and choices the director made were awful. The battle was boring and shot in a very boring / 3rd unite director way :lol How about that spin move the one power ranger guy with the cyber eye pulled before shooting the pikes? Wonder if that was written? Either way RR shot it and it looked stupid.

then there is this shot

Ultimately BoBF reminded me more of the last couple of seasons of The Walking Dead in its storytelling than anything Star Wars related.

But the ENTIRE series was boring with terrible choices… all written and created by Jon Favreau.

I love Iron Man I and Happy Hogan but cmon guys. :lol

So I wonder here... Jon Favreau also wrote The Mandalorian. Boba Fett was very different there. The story telling of Mando was so much better too.

What changed?

I think the issue goes higher up. Maybe Jon did not have a choice and had to write certain things into the series.

I agree that the writer structures storylines and creates the dialogue. A lot of the blame has to be on his head. Remember that this is television not a film so the writer/showrunner really has more power than the directors that are brought in. But being a limited series, RR directed most of the episodes and is an executive producer. Those roles gave him power to have some creative freedom much like how a director on a film can change dialogue and story structure while not being created as the writer. Both are to blame, maybe even some involvement from executives aka KK and her band of story group clowns. It certainly starts with Favreau IMO. That vespa gang...wtf. I NEED NAMES.

I think he blew chunks also. But the visuals on screen were awful. That moped chase in episode 3 was the worst action scene I have watched in a large scale production I have ever scene. JF may have wrote it but RR made it the ultimate cringe. Unless JF wrote “this will be the slowest and goofiest looking chase scene ever”

everyone deserves blame. Who made those mopeds ? Who approved them??? Who approved the look of the power ranger gang???

This show is **** from top to bottom.

Boba Fett: "I'm not abandoning Mos Espa and it's people" (or something like that...) that's why we'll stay in town and not go back to the palace (only to bring massive destruction on the town and it's people)????????

What the **** has Mos Espa ever done for you? What's the connection does he have with it that he's so vehemently going to stand up for it???? Do you think that any of the people in Mos Espa give a **** about you? You're a crime lord holding them to ransom for "protection."

What, the complete, ****?????

The writing is so retarded on every level.

Someone higher up said “cut Boba’s balls off “

Yeah… What was the reason for staying in town and not taking the fight to the palace??? Better chance of killing innocent civilians that way???

All three episodes directed by RR fail miserably. Coincidence? I don't think so. Or do you think the writers have some sort of personal vendetta with RR so they deliberately handed him bad materials ?

The lack of Luke Skywalker was lame. It would have been cool if Luke took Grogu to Mando personally, got involved in the battle, saw the "father" and "son" relationship between Mando and Grogu, and decided to let him be with his dad and still train him when the kid feels ready.

This episode was not great. It started out poorly. The scene with scooter girl whatzername hatching the plan to stay in a shelled out wreak of a building because it was the 'right' thing to do and getting complete buy in from Boba with a tacit 'ok sounds good' response was painful to watch. King Kong movie homage was **** on and absolutely unnecessary. At least Boba got to shoot his weapons...all of them lol. Why does the bad guy always have to talk too much. I was hoping Cad would win...but like the rest of this series...a big let down...old Boba gets to carry on cracking wise and getting the side eyes from Fennec and snide looks from the scooter gang. Please Disney do not do a second season.

I am packing my bags for the Kenobi thread...105 sleeps till that thread becomes the place to be...TTFN

I'm surprised they didn't leave that cliffhanging decision of Grogu's for the beginning of S3 Mando... and I'm not sure it was Grogu's best decision.

But I look forward to Season 3 GROGU show with The Mandalorian

Well... OK, first, it was not as bad as I feared. That does NOT MEAN GOOD!

Thankfully it had much more Cad Bane than I thought. Love Cad Bane. Love his voice, his expressive mouth, and his snarl. He's just the best Star Wars villain in a long time. A LONG time. His death, although quick, was fine. Boba's amazing get-off-the-floor move to kill him was ridiculous.

And that is kind of the show. Things are just ridiculous. But its Star Wars... so its OK -- this has to be what Rodriguez tells everyone. "Don't worry, I'll make 'em love it, they'll be eating this up."

Hack director gives hack show.

I liked the Rancor/Robot smack-down.

Baby Yoda is always welcome. Maybe my favorite scene was the last one -- tapping on the window to go faster. Those two (Mando and Grogu) just work. And if that's the best scene, that tells you all you need to know about the interest in the show.

Cad Bane and Grogu rock. The Mando rocks. Everything else is degrees of fail or misuse.

Still wish the Tusken's Black Wife came back to do her crazy attack thing, and pop her head up out of a hole mid-battle.
:goodpost:

Yeah I didn't get it. Thought I was missing something.

Saves the city Avengers style and is now worshipped by the people. :dunno
