sorry for double posts ,my expectations were set loww ,but still a underwhelming figure ,

the figure has no batteries or instructions included and mine has glue residue gumming it all up ,skinny body and odd head sculpt doesn't help

it suffers from giraffe neck which can be mitigated somewhat by the removal of the battery plate

a little better than a mattel hasbro figure in my opinion but not by much ,my opinion may change but not by much i expect

when considered against other recent third party releases ,it cant fail to disappoint

but hats off to them for making a attempt at him

coming round to this guy a little more,
mine has no light up eyes due to the glue residue ,so no battery plates not the end of the world to me ,but the long neck can be off set by padding the shoulders under the cape ,cape is nice and big and drapes quite nicely or has the potential to do so

im thinking some of the negatives in the body and such could be hidden by the cape perhaps as the suit is sewn on and not easily removed for padding out

the neck post could be shortened pretty easily im thinking

not great but not a complete write off lol

This is a good reminder of why in-hand photos are so important these days. Unfortunately this looks pretty far off. I can't tell about his height and proportions from the photos, but the arms in particular look too short and there seems to be some bobble heading. The head sculpt doesn't even look to be painted. The costume looks to be cheaply made, and the cape clasps and boots are terrible. As pointed out, there's definitely a Hasbro quality. That said, with a bit of work it could be somewhat salvageable. If it was priced at maybe $75-$100 it might be worth it, but certainly not what they're asking. This seems to be a case of a company trying to quickly slap together and pump out a figure before in-hand photos start showing up. After which the company will probably disappear. Maybe the price will be dramatically slashed or another company will take a crack at the character.

agree with all the above ,and hope someone else gives it a shot

cant say im disappointed for what i paid just underwhelmed

hes going to be a background figure in my display i guess ,just making up the numbers and as such i can live with it

your mileage may vary lol

Ahaha, well… hey we roll the dice on these 3rd party preorders, right? To provide a little perspective on it, the three Soosoo figures I recently got—Robin, Nightwing, Rorschach—all absolutely rock. And had I not preordered I might have missed out. Especially with Rorschach.

I’m seriously considering making this a refurb project when it eventually arrives. I enjoy kitbash projects so for me this would be fun. I’ll probably treat it more statue-like because of what I have in mind. Here’s what I’m thinking:

1) I’m not a fan of exposed elbow joints. I’ll use apoxie to resculpt the arms to make them bigger, smooth the neck to head joinery, and add finer detail to the ridges on the face and arms.

2) have a go at repainting the skin myself. I think I can get away with it since it’s not flesh tones which would require airbrushing.

3) use an iridescent paint on the “X” in the chest of the suit to give it more of a glowing effect.

4) replace the boots with something a bit sharper looking. The swashbuckler boots from the comics.

5) have a new custom cape made for it.

So basically make lemonade from this lemon. 😜

Feels to me SooSoo are quite a way ahead of other third party companies and even quite a few licensed ones. I'm confident enough to pre-order their products.

The rest are too hit and miss for me to buy without seeing in hand pics/reviews first.

Yeah, definitely. Soosoo now seems to be on par with HT. Asmus is pretty much as well now. From what pics I see Threezero and Blitzway too probably, for the most part anyway.

I think Flash Point Studio might be in that camp as well? Don't have Doomsday Reveler aka Joker yet. If Flash looks as good in hand as the pics I'll be confident buying from them in the future.

On Soosoo Fans FB someone is saying that Toys Era is actually the owner of Flash Point Studio, Toys Battalion, and 101Toys. Is that correct?

Not looking great, but still no decent photos too, guys. Close ups are always bad. Posing helps. I hope somebody will try better.

I can make it look good in photos, I’m sure. How it’ll look on the shelf is another story!
