Well we know he does retrieve it eventually, just takes his time doing so. :lol

Would have been fun to watch him hunt down and decimate the Jawas.

Fett wouldn't want to take on the Jawas, they get the better of him every time.

Even without all the ridiculous crap that was in this episode, the thing that told me they don't know how to tell a coherent story was when Boba returned
Spoiler Spoiler:
Despite our having seen it ad nauseum in EACH OF THE FIRST TWO EPISODES, RR & JF felt it necessary to give us a flashback to reinforce that the symbol painted on the tent was that of the speeder bike thugs. I mean seriously, how lame can you get?

Not sure what movie people saw that has anyone thinking Rodriguez was a great director. Most of his work IS camp. Sin City is highly stylized and taken from another artist. The story of his break into Hollywood is truly the best thing he's done.

Even compared to other TV directors on Mando, RR's work is very uneven and hokey -- despite giving us an excellent BF badass moment. His movies are full of moments, but rarely a solid cohesive whole. Tim Burton has the same storytelling limitations.

People have been bending over backwards for the last two weeks trying to justify the Tusken storyline. Truth is it always sucked. Once the real Boba Fett escaped the sarlaac he would have immediately killed whoever was necessary and stopped at nothing to retrieve his armor and the Slave 1 as soon as possible.
Here's where I don't agree with you. What do we really know about the "real" Boba Fett from ESB and ROTJ that would indicate he'd kill whoever was necessary? He works for the highest bidder just like Mando did at the start of that series and Mando had a code or a moral compass. Boba could certainly have the same. I actually liked the Tuskens and find it really dumb they killed them off. There's plenty I agree with you on though about the relative crapiness of the show...

It's also about the comic book Boba. I mean that one under Marvel canon stuff. Ruthless, efficient, clever. Seems like a completely different person. Maybe they switched the clones and our Boba is Rex all along!

I guess, but we do know that he had a reputation for being feared, ruthless, and that he loved that armor and his ship. I don't think it's a stretch to deduce that those two things are more important to him than anything else.

I always wait until my son gets home from school so that we can watch these together but I couldn't resist skimming a few comments. This episode is worse than the first two??? Worse than Episode 1??? :thud:
Khev, it's inevitable that your son will hate you during his teen years, but that's no reason to expedite the process! This episode is a surefire catalyst - do not subject him to it!

Rodriguez was good, The Mexico trilogy, From Dusk till Dawn, Sin City, Battle Angel Alita and come to think of it that's all I've seen. Hang on, The Faculty was alright too.

And there's nothing wrong with a bit of camp, is there a man amongst us who doesn't like Flash Gordon?

But camp, should never, ever be in Star Wars, well apart from Threepio.

The thing is, Robert Rodrigues is a good director, just look at his filmography, but it was obvious in the Mandalorian episode that he definitely doesn't fit into Star Wars or even adapting a script by Favreu (which are simple as **** and almost written like a summary of what must happen in the episode).

His Mandalorian episode is just cheap Nostalgia trip, he even said that the script was way smaller than the runtime of the episode, thats why Mando was doing the Scooby-Doo run during the entire episode.

Don’t forget the Spy Kids series, Sharkboy and Lava Girl (wt?), the Machete series and We Can Be Heroes - all classics.

I wonder if when this show is over if one of those YouTube wunderkind will do a fan edit distilling it down to a decent hour or so of content?

The most frustrating thing watching this is how different in quality it is from the two seasons of Mandalorian with the same creative involved.

What happened?
At the rate they're going, to get a decent hour of content they'll need to shoot @4 or 5 additional episodes. :lol

That's a good point......Dang!

So we're getting Spy Kids Rodriguez for Boba Fett.

He's not directing anymore episodes is he?

Spoiler Spoiler:

showing up really took me out of the episode for a minute. Normally I don’t mind that kind of thing, but I think he’s just too recognizable for a cameo in Star Wars, although this could totally just be a personal reaction.

I never understand this POV, it's no different from any other recognisable actor appearing in a show.

It's like people complained when Keanu Reeves was in Cyberpunk... but he's playing a role he's not Keanu Reeves.
