I hope MCU DD and Kingpin won't be used in ways that flat out contradict the Netflix show - because the show was good. Although I've heard there might already be a contradiction with Kingpin and the end of DD season 3, which I actually still haven't watched. It's been so long I kind of feel like I have to rewatch season 1 and 2 again before embarking on the third.
I just finished the 3rd and am going back and rewatching from the beginning - there is so much I totally forgot about. Very good point about the contradiction with KP.

Season 3 was good because of Kingpin and Bullseye, IMO. This show loves it's hallway/corridor/prison fights :lol I'm all for it.

By the way I presume it's spoiler-city in the Spiderman thread. Been staying out the past few days. Other than the couple of youtube cam-segments I initially watched, I've seen a few cam-screenshots on twitter but nothing that has spoiled anything for me really.

Probably not gonna be able to see it till after Christmas sometime. :banghead
Yeah it is STAY FAR AWAY lol

Not sure how I’d rank them yet since it’s been awhile since I watched 1 and 2. Interested to see how they’ll play him in the MCU, I hope he’s not just relegated to cameos and stuff.

My thoughts exactly on Echo. Seems they are relying on more popular supporting characters in some of these shows to entice people to watch.
One gave us a great atmosphere and characters. The second season felt a little fragmented - part 1 Frank Castle, part 2 Elektra. Season 1, 3 just had a cohesive story and felt better as a whole. S3 really dove into MM.

Feige likes to do different usually, but doesn't mind a subtle nod to things that worked well in previous media. Those streaming platforms really like to spread their content amongst many different genres and appeal to many people. Hence why I think a push for diverse Marvel characters on D+. I'm not even interested in the Hawkeye show so I won't be interested in Echo unless most of the show has DD. I don't think just Kingpin will do it for me, but I hope HT makes a figure cause of it.
MCU version of DD, Punisher, KP, BE and MK will be way more kid friendly than Netflix get used to it here comes the funny quips. :slap
I think Moon Knight will show us how far Marvel is willing to go.

I think you can respect the previous material and do plenty of new stuff. I'd like for the Netflix characters to be back. We need a Heroes for Hire show. Just recast Iron Fist and move on. I don't see an Elektra as they really completed her arc. I honestly don't care if they respect the show as I just want lawyer MM/DD fighting Kingpin with Spidey/DD with F4/maybe even DD fighting vamps with Blade.

Never watched Iron Fist, tried the first episode and just wasn't into that actor as Danny Rand. You just know that if they bring him back, Iron Fist is almost certainly not going to be a blonde hair white dude, which is lame.

There's Shang Chi, is that not enough? :lol

I always thought of Danny as a fun character and he just ended up too whiny.

It's never enough, that's the problem with this type of stuff.

I've always liked IF/Danny too, and also Orsen Randall. Could've been some cool stuff there. Does IF have any nonwhite female supporting characters? She'll get a show before IF.....

But it really needs to be blond or you would accept an likeable actor with dark hair like Lewis Tan?

Because the thing with Iron First is that he's rich, spoiled and ends up training at K'un-Lun, the white and blond is just aesthetic like color of eyes, and let's be real, probably the only memorable thing he's done in his life since his creation was being the first character to give an interracial kiss in comics in 1978.

To be honest, I'd rather the characters stay true to how they look in the comics. We can argue that the hair/skin color is a minor detail, but for me, comics are a visual thing first, and a reading thing second; I fell in love with these characters as a kid because of their look, and I want them to look like I remember. I don't think I'm alone in that sentiment.

That said, if they are gonna go that route, I'm down for Lewis Tan. I was disappointed he wasn't Shang Chi.

Dude i agree with you about character that look like their comic counterpart, but we never got that, they are always close but not exactly the same.

Oh I know, and I've often complained about it :lol At the end of the end, I'm just glad that we get the stuff we do, there's more good than bad.

Yeah, but I think the recent MCU cast is better than what they used to do, like OMG, who thought Jeremy Renner would make a good Hawkeye. I bought his HT Endgame just to complete the set of Avengers.

Yeah, when Renner was cast I was like "isn't Hawkeye supposed to be a handsome ladies man?" LOL

Personally I hope they retcon the Netflix stuff. Some actors were great, but all the Hand stuff devolved to nonsense. Not to mention the Punisher. And Iron Fist had too little budget to pull off the lore. Also, I still don't understand how a Half-Asian woman is supposed to pass for Greek. This is the Elektra I want:

They can keep Cox, D'Onofrio, even Bernthal, but everything else has to go.

Unpopular opinion but I want a new Punisher. Never liked Bernthal in anything he’s been in, I guess because he plays the same guy every time and I’m not a fan. His Punisher was way too small, and just yelled a lot.

I like Bernthal as an actor. I'm iffy on his Punisher. I wouldn't mind a more accurate version myself, but considering they're currently turning him into Shadowland Daredevil and retiring the skull, I don't think we'll be seeing him anywhere.

If the Netflix figure wasn't so pricey already, I'd go and get it, as I don't see much Punisher merch being made soon.

That’s his new logo? So they really did change it because of twitterazis who probably never bought a punisher book in the first place huh...

Yeah, he's going to be the new leader of the Hand now. Ninja Punisher. Boy, I sure am excited to go and pay 5€/issue now!

You mean Twazis. 🤭

(I had to for the word-play, but I still think it's wrong to compare pearl-clutching cancellers to historically genocidal murderers.)
To be fair, someone should tell that to Twitter & Tumblr first. Every minute that passes, they find 10 new things to attach "nazi" to.

I laughed at this. Frank Castle would never lead a group like this. Even on the cover all they had were different type of swords. Maybe this is Frank's "transition" like how DC has become in that it is more PC to use knives/swords than guns. This is as insulting as the Hydra Cap. That's comics for you.

Maybe they want to appeal to the Asian Punisher fans. :lol

Glad I'm out of the comic buying business. Jason Aaron can do Thor but that is all. His Strange run was awful and he did a previous Punisher run that was too out there.

I read a article saying the The Hand wanted him because he was the King of Murders or something, I've been out of comics so long I don't even know what that is. Anyways I see the picture of him wearing swords, and I think of the article, and in my head I'm thinking well he would of got that King of Murders title because he used guns. What's he going to do with those swords?

Correct me if I'm wrong but he's a special forces soldier, guns and explosives are his bread and butter. Does he even know how to use a sword? This move makes no sense.
