I can't help but feeling that it would be the perfect expression for an ESB Han Solo

what I considered to be the very best that was available. I've since changed every part of him

I also couldn't help but think of Han Solo when I first saw that Mina sculpt. She managed to get a great expression... it just seems more like Han than Indy to me.

On your 2nd point, I think we've all been there with Indy. I thought I had a perfect custom just 4 years ago... now once again I swapped out just about everything. I can't imagine what another 4 years will bring...

'State of the Art' never lasts too long.

Apologies to all on here, I meant no offence. I guess it was just a case of being in the right place at the right time! And no, I don’t have $3k burning a hole in my pocket, but most of us could rustle it up somehow if we really wanted something that badly! I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t commit to Andy’s ET set and that was “only” $2.5k! Just watched his unboxing video on YouTube and that set is absolutely GORGEOUS! I can see where all the money has gone into that one.

If you can rustle up 3K for Indy and 2.5K for E.T.... I want your money! :)

I should have my ET set tomorrow already!! So unboxing video coming! Showcase Video coming! Tons of pics coming!! Keep an eye on my Instagram and YouTube.

I almost want to call into work sick I'm that excited 😆

I've really enjoyed building my Indy figures over these past several years. Upgrading a major part (sculpt, jacket) or relatively more minor part (gunbelt, satchel, whip) here and there has really been part of that fun.

I agree that, for me also, the process of building is the best part. Yes, it can seem frustrating with the endless upgrades. But these things do seem to come in waves.
Yup you a guys are definitely right. There's definitely a lot of fun in the "build a figure" aspect and sort of a thrill of the hunt that goes into gathering the parts you want/need to piece it all together.

I've noticed a lot of these more art/museum figures are starting to come with the head/neck/partial chest sculpts so I guess they're more meant to just stand there? Like @Rzeznikk mentioned, sort of takes away the fun of being able to pose your figure if you can't really turn the head. But variety is good so everyone gets something for their particular tastes/collection.

I've found that the sculpt is the most accurate Raiders version we have gotten mainly because when you see the film ford still has that young SW face just with stubble. Only other artist who got that close is Inigo with his V3. Although I will say if the sculpt was neckless I imagine it would work better for the sake of articulation. I also like Gesus boots in terms of sculpted pieces but the best pair will come from Strippedbox

2.5k for an ET is certainly enough to make me go "Ouuuch!"

I'm glad I got out when I did. It's not that I don't have money right now, I'd just rather not bankrupt myself on a hobby.

It's always good to know what one's limitations are. I'm happy and blessed to have a great paying job, but even with that I still did the necessary hustle to get some of these major grails this year and early next. Doggie Docs ET set. Jay Customs Fright Night Jerry....Prime 1 1:4 Jungle Hunter just to name a few.

Extremely expensive pieces, no doubt about it, but you know what they say "you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it."

But obviously you can't get everything in this hobby. Some other things I would have loved to get had to be sacrificed in favor of these pieces. Things like the 1:6 Mrs. Doubtfire...Really wish I could have gotten on that run. But priorities. What can you do. Maybe the opportunity will present itself in the future. Hoping anyway.

Another example of why I need to stop treading water with Indy over and over again. Other grails out there 😀

Thankfully, I do have most of my grails now. Next year, somewhere to build and display them has to take priority. Once I know how the land lies there, things can be reviewed. Just be glad that you have the security to be able to do the things you want. I'm not there yet and I'm sure I'm not alone.

You're definitely not alone! I'm currently saving to design and build my own home and one feature will definitely be a proper office/collection room. Thankfully, I'm an architect so I don't have to pay for someone else to design for me, so that's some money saved :lol

Yeah, I won't have that luxury. I'll just have to find the best I can for whatever rent I'm willing to pay. Then you have to worry about what council tax band you're in. Monthly expenses will always take priority over fripperies. There's no point building a collection if you're forever risking the roof they're under. Budgets will have to be set. With that in mind, I made sure I got all the stuff I really wanted already, so anything else can be secondary.

Will just have to see how next year pans out.....
