I just watched the video and was impressed with the headsculpt too. Now I came here to catch up and was pleasantly surprised that others had come to the same conclusion.
Leave it to Sideshow to F up the lighting and botch another selling opportunity.
I think I must have forgetten that this is in the 40th Anniversary box. Looks excellent !! I totally agreed with him in that opening shot that it'll feel bad to unpack him.

Pretty obvious now that Sideshow feels threatened by early reviewers and early sellers like TW. Things are quickly changing in their favor, although the execution isn't sharp.
Looks good there.
I see the poor folks in HK are under a Typhoon warning that is affecting their businesses so shipping will slow down for a few days until it blows over.

Looks like Lando comes with the identical base design and colour as Bespin Leia, which was good thinking on Hot Toys' part.
Yet they've made a card backdrop for him, whereas Leia had a block of magnetic white polystyrene. This is typical HT inconsistency.
(I've now given Palpatine's unused base to my custom Bespin Han, so all three will match).

Well I didn't hold out very long of course and decided to order this now mainly because not having Lando who's one of my favorite characters would be intolerable plus when I was a little kid Lando was one of my favorite Star Wars toys so nostalgia wins again.
It DOES look way better, making me feel better, but part of me also felt like it only looks better when the head is quite close up to the camera lens and that distortion (making the mouth seem larger/wider, which is the key likeness problem IMO) of it being so close is what is "correcting" the face.
The hair looks tiny in this pic, and the mouth/'stache looks wider and more prominent ("stretching" the weird smirk out) way different to the previous pics and due to the head being so close to a smartphone lens. When he puts the fig further back from the camera the headsculpt starts to look more like what it does in the proto pics and blogger pics.
Not quite the same angle, but two pics of the same head (the proto pic on the right is the best looking Lando likeness to me - like the smirking Han stormie head, there are some angles where the smirk isn't as visible and works) with eyes made the same distance apart/size in both pics, showing how different the lens is treating the facial/head proportions:
I REALLY, REALLY hope it looks more like the above pic in-hand.
I guess once more in-hand pics flood in it'll provide a greater feel for it.

I always felt the sculpt was fine. About a 8.5-9/10. I might grab another Lando just because it might be the only BDW HT we ever get. I bought a couple extra of those Bespin Leia bases really cheap ages ago for Lando and Han.
I'm still more in the fine vs fantastic camp (as a MAJOR Lando fan, I'm not sure how anyone could think this was close to a bullseye likeness-wise, but many loved the ANH Han and Ben and I thought those were pretty weak likenesses) but for sure that video has at least got me excited again.
I was really almost starting to think of this head as, like the HT ANH Han head was vs the Jnix ANH Han, a solid placeholder for a custom sculpt down the line. But this video has restored the faith. It's certainly no Tarkin or Krennic, but it may be enough to tick the Lando box for good. Until... the non-smirk 2.0 version comes out.

It would seem that way but if this Lando sells poorly or even mediocre they might give it a pass even with the ability to reuse the sculpt. Still a bit surprising to me we haven't got Escape Leia. I'm going to assume we aren't getting ROTJ Lando but if it comes around of course I'll buy. If I had to choose I would go with this ESB version.

Look at people talking about General Lando when we haven’t even seen a C3PO, Bespin Han, etc

The only reason I have a glimmer of hope for general lando is because of how hot toys loves to reuse sculpts because they are cheap. They want to recoup the investment and the general outfit is probably easy to throw together for a quick release.

I dont understand the desire for general lando, it must be the age when you watch the movies. For me its the version that should have died saving the rebellion for betraying han in esb. ROTJ is one of my least favorite star wars films.
