This will have decals on it guaranteed. Literally all their Predators are made this way, it's just for some reason they dropped the ball on the Big Game Cover Art. I feel like it was rushed out.

Fugitive for example has decals, but it's far better than the Jungle Hunter.

For what it's worth, I do think they'll do a better job on the 1/3, decals or not, but I'm a little hesitant to order now as this whole situation has left a sour taste in my mouth. I would hate to drop 4 grand on it and it turns out pretty average. Feels like a big gamble to pre-order.

Sadly, I don't think we'll see mass produced statues like this with the old school fully painted technique. Decals are a popular option as its cheaper to hire someone to apply decals than to hand paint over 1000 Predator statues, and it also ensures consistency. The prototype is probably painted to establish a base pattern to copy. They probably had trouble replicating it in decal form so they dumbed it down, or the factory that made it simply sucked lol.

I'm still 50/50 at this stage, whether I PO or not will probably depend on how CS handles my situation with the 1/4. If they brush it off and say too bad can't help you, it's good enough, I won't be pre-ordering on principal. If they come good and give me a new head that is properly painted, I will probably PO the 1/3, albeit locally, and just hope for the best lol. I'm not expecting prototype-levels on that either, but certainly better than what they did on the 1/4.

Well a few factors make me believe theyll do the big guy justice..

1) the 1/3 has waaayyyy more care being put into it. Between feedback, rivisions, official comments about its importance AND the owner of Prime 1 personally overseeing this, they know how important this is to their company.

2) Bigger mass = easier to paint fine details.

3) More expensive which hopefully should mean more effort

4) Public reception of this piece is paramount. If this flops, its a HUGE stain on Prime 1 considering how much hype and attention the statue garnered. Prime 1 has put their reputation on the line by not only how expensive this statue is, but by their own claims of this being a landmark product

All this talk about decals here and in the 1/4 thread has me second guessing my decision to preorder this. I honestly had no idea decals were used on these high priced Predator statues. All I can say is that for over 3k these better look pretty damn close to the prototype.

I'm not as accepting of the decals after seeing them applied first hand on the 1/4. The ONLY way I will not crap on the decals for super high end is if the damn prototype uses decals. Because then we see from the start a more accurate version of the piece we will own. Not gawk at the piece prime 1 corporate will own cause you damn well know they're getting the best of the best paint jobs. It's not as simple as being all bad or all good though. It's hard hitting flaw with hard hitting pros. The true test is if the flaws are enough to make you regret the price. Im waiting for my replacement heads but I'm leaning towards regret. That's a hard $2k regret, that **** STINGS! HAHA

i've been quite critical of the 1/4. I respect your opinion, but i think you're overreacting and focusing only on the bad that is only visible with a macro lens.

your statue is badass, enjoy it. and if you get new heads, even better.

Yeah… I mean I think he is seeing every issue cause he got 3 bad heads where things were applied wrong… which he should be upset. Personally I think the dot pattern look organic

My issue is the color is too brown for his face and there should have been more shading done . Otherwise is a very baddass statue.

Definitely. They should not be using a master painter for their proto and then decals on the production version. I'm not saying that is what they are doing, but if they are then that borders on bait and switch because they aren't even using the same process. I fully understand that the prototype has a superior paint job 90% or more of the time but I expect the same materials to be used at least.

I preordered in large part because I was impressed with how seriously they seemed to be trying to get this as close to perfect as possible. It never even occurred to me that they would put stickers on a statue costing this much. But I'll try to keep an open mind for now.

I think the proto looks like each dot could be individually airbrushed, the edges look too soft to be decals but I could be wrong

Its for sure airbrushed, will be SHOCKED if we get that in the production piece

So here's a difference right away I noticed with the 1/3 that might prove to be very tricky if not impossible to decal for prime 1. On the 1/4 the skin had some slight wrinkles, so the body decals just got applied in roughly similar areas. The 1/3 body is sculpted different, there's numerous raised areas like the tops of small pebbles. And those are all black, so a decal placed just slightly off would look extra bad.

Also, yo it's never shown me THREE options before on the website? Now it's showing a REGULAR no ES, a DELUXE no ES, AND a DELUXE BONUS with 999 wait list. Before it showed the DX/DXS together. So this new?? This means only the bonus parts are limited to 999 and lord only know how many deluxe and regular they sell. Would are likely looking at 100-200 reg (all or nothing it feels) 500-650 deluxe?? And 999 bonus. Close to a total of 2k together ES. Way off?

Don't like that at all. Clearly they see a huge demand for this statue so are gonna milk it for as long as possible. God this statue better be good
