Compare that head pic above to the IS 1/4 scale Cap

YIKES!

Looks like a 1/4 black series lol

Holy Shnikes! This thread feels like what goes on in the head of an insecure supermodel in front of a mirror. You look beautiful enough. Just enjoy yourself.

:lol :lol This seems apt lol

I think since HT have set themselves at ever increasing standards, their margins for (seeming) errors are slim and with this being a high profile release and an even higher anticipation there would be some scrutiny. Though for me I think this one's looking good.

Thanks. I did make a post about it a few posts back, but it's been lost to posterity, lol.
I have owned all the HT Cap figures. Every one has seemed slightly less muscular looking than Evans looks in the movies. I've never had a problem with it, but they have never "looked right" to me. This one looks perfect. I fully understand the helmeted head might seem smaller, also that his "sculpted" hair would flatten in his lid, but it's all about recreating that hench, muscular look. I have seen nothing in these posted images that makes me think the figure won't be anything less than the best Cap so far. Broad, muscular chest, and smallish head, to emphasize his massive physique. The pics posted in the thread so far are incredible.

Yep! Haha yeah once release hits threads become inundated lol Much agreed! I think that stood out to me when I saw the final product photos, he looked a bit bulkier (but not overly so) which I find fitting. The proportions also look pretty good, and while looking at my AoU and CW versions, the proportions don't bother me on them at all since they look good to me (though I do see others view on them).

This past year, i have had to sell off almost all my HT figures to survive the economic climate(My Cap collection were my most prized items, and even they had to go to pay bills). I could put him on Flexpay with SS. But i doubt it. Don't get me wrong, i believe this is the definitive Cap look. I just feel it would be selfish of me to buy something so expensive when there are other ways i could spend the money. Maybe one day i could pick him up.
I still have tears streaming down my face watching the scene where Thanos and his horde are heading for Steve and Sam comes through on the radio. "On your left". That score... And the look of relief on Cap's face when the portals open up. It gives me shivers just writing about it. If i could swing just one figure this year, this would be the one.

Aww I hope you'll continue to be alright :1-1: I totally understand, and I hope you'll get a chance to attain him eventually.

Oh man, that scene is so mesmerizing, so incredible, a spine chilling moment indeed.

Those are good edits^

Looks like the face is softened a bit, the shoulders given more slope and the star is more prominent.

I'll pick it up. It's not everything I hoped it would be but it's not bad either. There's no point in passing on it. Don't have a Cap figure, need one, this is what's available at the price I'm willing to pay.

Exactly this! This is what count's for me, too.

Not need to argue which Cap is the best one.

I dunno as I haven’t received my copy yet but CW & Concept Cap both are great representations of the character. Also, what happens when A1 2012 version releases with updated body, suit, headsculpt, etc. Will EG cap still be considered the best version? How about BD EG and/or Hydra Cap?

If Hot Toys release a better Cap in the future, I'll sell this one and get that one :)

I'll be getting the A1 2.0 aswell so it's not an either/or for me. If they ever want to do AOU or Civil War 2.0 I'd certainly give those consideration because of the differences of those outfits which might play host to better traps.

Basically looks like I'll be having a few different iterations of Iron Man, Cap and Thor afterall. The original plan was one of each :rolleyes2

Speaking of Thor, where's the A1 2.0 for him? Surprised it hasn't been announced

Will definitely pick this guy up and then assess future Caps as and when they are released. If a better / more definitive version comes along I happily add or just sell this one and upgrade.

It will be interesting to see if the new EG sculpt and resized helmet will be the standard for future 1/6 Caps.

As a single packaged figure, I would say that this new EG Cap is HTs best which beats out both CW Caps. However, I combined parts from both CW Caps using most of the BV CW Cap but switched the helmeted headsculpt with the “angry” mouth piece posed holding the s BP scratched shield opposite the Mk. XLV blocking IMs repulsors. Personally, it is one of my favorite timeless displays. This is an old picture which does little justice and was taken using the Mk. XLV but eventually I did swap to the Mk. XLVI. Those 2 figures posed together like this will always be one of my favorites.

By the way, I was going through a bunch of my pictures and found this one which was taken when CW Cap was released. It had been one of my favorites with the only error being that the A patches on his shoulders were not ripped off (one of the first things I did to mine for accuracy). This is not my picture but I liked it so much that I had saved it for years. I believe it maybe time for a new version akin to this one with a couple more Caps and titles underneath each.

Perhaps IW Cap should have the “Vigilante” moniker with CW Cap “Disillusioned” EG Cap holding Mj?lnir with “Worthy” and old man Cap sitting on the bench “Found Peace”? Perhaps I will set something like that up when my EG Cap finally arrives.

Still looks better than the Age of Ultron IMO, even though I?ll never get rid of this because it?s from a time hot toys used cloth for their outfits instead of the crap they use now.

Maybe I?ll buy a Endgame Cap body and try the age of Ultron clothes on it and see if improves this ones look.

Both CW Caps (regular and BV) were actually the last ones to use fabric and arguably the best versions until EG Cap In my opinion. IW, Concept and EG Caps all use that synthetic material. However since I still haven’t received my copy of EG Cap, I wonder if the abdominal red & white section has the same type of soft fabric feel like IW Cap does (the only section of the outfit that doesn’t feel like plastic weave).

I Didn?t know the Civil War Cap used cloth. It?s been so long since that released lol.
I never picked up the civil war cap since the outfit was too similar to the AOU but looking back I wish I could have got one. I did have the Concept Cap and Infinity War Cap and while I liked them I hated the way the outfits felt. Like cheap plastic or something.

Yes, both versions were the final Caps using softer, cotton like material and were, In my opinion, far superior to AoU Cap. And I held out for a long time fooling myself into thinking that the AoU Cap was superior when in fact the colors on AoU were so bright and intense looking like a TV set to the Vivid setting which no one uses even for playing video games lol. The red is super bright, the boots are a light brown with red accented straps that limit ankle articulation, there is more white throughout the suit, the blue is brighter, there are extra accents of that bright red all over the suit and he just looks like an easy bright target compared to CW. The body and/or tailoring on the CW Cap is also superior with better articulation, arms that fall to the side more naturally, chest and traps less boxy (still not as good as EG and Concept but better) and knee pads that are not 2 sizes too big. And because of the popularity of the new EG Cap, now is the time to buy a CW Cap as prices have dropped dramatically at least for the regular version. I think both CW versions are great in their own way while a combination of parts from both was my personal best Cap for years. I am sure HTs did this on purpose so they could get people like myself to double dip so I would have the look that I wanted for my display. Here is what I am talking about regarding the AoU vs CW (and please remember that I was a hold out for a long time even after buying the CW versions trying to convince myself that AoU was superior):

Guess I'll be the one guy to say he actually prefers the new material. It captures the more form-fitted look of the movie costumes better and is much more in scale, where the cloth ones always ended up looking really thick and flat on the body with all the overlapping layers involved.

Of course I don't tend to go for super extreme action poses with my figures, so that might help too. :)
