I''m going to pass on her. Hope her solo movie figure is better.

Just I saw a few problems with the figure, the head is a tad too large, there's definitely decrease in quality in the Widow Bite and there are painted on straps and buckles (like why?)

Yeah I agree, when I saw the quality of those Widow Bite gauntlets I was like jeez, that shiz looks cheap AF...and that's because it is. I still think the CW BW is far superior in terms of likeness / quality and overall value. :slap

A big F you to HT for scaling back the quality on the material they use.

They'll likely recycle the headsculpt for the solo movie release, but hopefully it'll have better paint apps on it.

The hairstyle on that Figuarts Widow looks pretty gross though...

It's looking good to me. The only HT version of Black Widow I have is the WS one...

I still like it a lot. The likeness is okay despite the patented "vacant stare" so many HT figures have. I like the mixed-media outfit. I'm not wild about the rooted hair that requires futzing every time the figure is moved but...it is what it is.

The new one looks like a better likeness, but it's a bit undone by that vacant stare. I'm hoping the outfit doesn't look so "plastic-y" in hand.
I'm looking forward to displaying her with the EG Hawkeye (the only HT version of that character I'll own).

Looking forward to more in-hand images and thoughts...

I'm a bit undecided to get this or wait on the BW solo film version.

I have a feeling they'll probably use the same sculpt but do it with rooted hair. Which, if red and not short, can look great.

The funny thing is that it would be such an easy choice if black widow had premiered on schedule. I?m sure they would have shown off at least the main character by now.

Yeah, Maybe if Hot Toys do do a virtual SDCC type event they'll show it. I mean it's not like there's anything secret.

Imagine if they did a David Harbour Red Guardian !!

This sure looks to be the most realistic looking Widow, at least close to realistic body proportions. The face looks more like Scarlett than I've seen before. Despite the hairdo, she looks really good.

The outfit looks over-produced to me... but the movie is to blame there.

Yeah, the sculpt of the hair is fine, its just not the hairstyle I associate with Black Widow. Makes her looks like a Mom.

I hope they do reuse this sculpt for another figure with a better hairstyle, and I can just buy the new head for a swap.

Second that. Even IW Widow has good costume details. Actually IMO all my Widows do.

And a lot for another Widow purchase will depend IMO on costume$$$$. Because if the solo movie takes place right after Civil War then in theory she wouldn't look that different from CW.:google

Then there's the shelf thing where all the other Widows have rooted hair and suddenly there's vinyl.:nono

Yeah it's definitely not the most attractive hairstyle she's had, but it'll still be nice to have a different kind of look for the character. And plus I like that it represents a Black Widow who's sort of at the end of her rope and just not in the mood anymore to look all sexy and glamorous.

A very good point - tho not sure I buy the character arc. Anyone can break, but based on the trailers I thought her way of handling it would be MORE fierce like when she was doing target practice. ScarJo awesome as always, acting wise.

Then again, EG was a surprise to a lot of people *fat Thor*:monkey3:cool:

(Another fig I may pass on as think the sculpt is off and the beard looks like a loaf of challa bread.)

I?m glad the hairstyle came up, since I was just thinking about it (since I?ve been obsessively looking for YouTube reviews and Instagram pictures). I think the Endgame hair is decent enough, especially since I like the idea of the Endgame versions representing the original six somewhat past their prime, but I feel like Hot Toys went about her hairstyle in a less than ideal way. It might be that big section of hair that?s pushed back in the center of the head, as throughout Endgame it kinda fell to the side and the less perfectly styled look might have worked better. As is, I think the likeness is enough of an improvement that I can deal with the hair and I like it better than the super braided ponytail look from the Black Widow movie. These pictures kinda show the slightly less put together look that might have worked better (they even used the second picture for the beautiful box)

Man you all are have some high standards, I love the braided look for women. I think it's very fitting to ScarJo's face and quite elegant. It's in no way a disheveled look or whatever.

I miss the good old days when hot toys used cloth. The new Hawkeye and this black widow will be a pain to pose, and I will have to worry about how long the outfit will last. The only Hawkeye I have is age of Ultron and that?s a good cloth outfit. I have the winter soldier and civil war Black Widow and their outfits are still 100% good condition. These are supposed to be durable poseable figures, but what?s the point if you can only have them in a museum pose for fear of damaging the outfits? Might as well but statues.

You?re telling me that being unsatisfied because I want a complex sculpt with more strands on the side is what you consider ?high standards??
But seriously, I was being pretty nitpicky because for some reason I was getting an almost Ruby Rose hair vibe from the prototype, although going back to the final product shots it?s not that bad and actually looks great in this one, barely different than the movie still I posted.

Nah dude, we just passed each other on our commentary. I wasn't referring to the figure's sculpt, it's the general vibes the forum is giving off that the hairstyle isn't an attractive one/it's passed prime/not sexy etc, figure or actress. That's what I meant by high standards, not the quality of the sculpt itself. High standards for women and attractiveness. I was just saying it surprised me, since I've always fancied braids and ornate styles like that when it comes to that sort of thing.

I really like the picture you just posed though. It definitely shows off the strength of the sculpt.
