BBTS sells out of most of the popular characters made by HT pretty quickly now. I think I remember reading a while ago that SS has cut down the quantity they make available to other retailers. Makes sense as they make more money selling it through their own site than selling to 3rd party re-sellers.

So any of these sites that sell out really isn't that much of a gauge as to how popular it is. Plus the fact that BBTS usually gets more stock than they PO as they tend to be in stock again after the figures release.

Don't forget the Yondu disaster. When BBTS did not even get as many as they PO and canceled a bunch of orders.

Do we think we will see another character announced tonight now that Rex has been revealed?

No. Don't think they'll do another just yet.

However, it seems like there was a very positive reception to Rex getting released. Seems like a lot of buzz and a ton of pre-orders. I wouldn't be surprised if they end announce Fives within a few weeks.

Rex has never appeared in a live action film or programme.

Dave Filoni thought he might have...

But I think the one thing I have really thought about is I really do think that Rex is that guy on Endor. I really do. Why else is there a bearded old guy on Endor, Tano? Why? It makes no sense. If you don?t want that to happen, do you know what that means? I?m gonna make that happen. I?m getting like Palpatine, I?m getting power crazy.

But that would mean that the Nik Sant actor would have to look like Temuera Morrison...

Jango is next, hopefully. Also would love to have some generic 501st clones to pair with their Jedi general Anakin, and 312th airborne/clones to go with Obiwan.

Now they will suffer the wrath of the animated Clone Wars crowd with every new release.

Bah. HT has a nice new Jango sculpt, it didn't take a crystal ball to see they are going to get mileage out of that thing and here is their chance! With a dozen or so clones.... all of whom we will probably see before we get poor Jango.

I'm frankly delighted. I find the CW-style animation so ugly that sadly, I can't even watch the series. Which I'd like to do!

I think it just dawned on me why the response in this thread is overwhelmingly positive towards the realistic approach taken. It would certainly appear that Hot Toys took the right approach based on the evidence of this discussion.

Would it be safe to assume that the majority of people posting are not particularly big "Clone Wars" (the cartoon) fans?

Every Clone Wars cartoon fan that I know were really disappointed by the direction taken, but hardly anyone posting here is.

Would it be fair to say that there are more "live action" star wars fans here who just like the characters or character designs from clone wars and just want to see them in a live action style?

I aint that bothered cause 95% of the time ill have him displayed with the bucket on hahahah. Plus its gonna look weird being displayed along my other SW figs if the proportions are too stylized.
