No, this is one thing I noticed, that 2012/A1 Cap’s suit and shield were in pristine condition. Like you said, his suit should have been pretty dirty, his shield BD, and I believe he shouldn’t have had his mask on either.

Yeah this is closer to what he should have looked like. And I would totally love this as a BD figure from HT as well, since the outfit actually looked a whole lot cooler that way.

They did actually film it with both Caps helmetless, it was too hard to follow so they added the cowl in post

If they were going to have both helmet-less, suppose they felt making 2012 A1 Cap accurately BD then would have needlessly costed extra money and felt simply making him helmeted was easier and cheaper.

I got a suit off TA to make a Cap. Any recommendations for any bodies?

I mean the HT’s TTM-21 Regular body will work but I doubt you’re looking to spend that much on a body for a kitbash. I’ve honestly lost track as to what 3rd party bodies fit which clothes but you definitely want to stick to medium at most. The suit is so small and restrictive.

Yeah, If your not gunna pick up the original HT body, I would go with a standard muscular body and fill out the chest with clay or padding a bit as needed. You will definitely have more articulation with standard over the HT or more overly muscular body. Kumik or Coo Models may be a good place to start, Kumik usually has the thigh pieces to widen them, where as COO Models are already larger, and will fill suit better as well.

Here was my attempt at improving this figure a while ago. Despite appearances, I found that the stock body was actually too big and broad-shouldered for the tight outfit, as it was causing the top to ride up and the chest to sit too low. So I switched to a narrow-shouldered body instead, which allowed the shoulders to slope down more naturally and the neck to not look so short. And then I sculpted on a bigger chest and padded it up here and there.

It's still not ideal, as the red and white torso section still takes up more space than it should, and the knockoff head also appears a bit larger on it than I'd prefer, but it's at least an improvement.

And here's a size comparison with my CW Cap.

I know that we're all our own worst critics but man that looks so damned good I would consider paying you to do the same for me. I think the more thin look compliments the Civil War Captain well because it shows some physical development over the years.

Thanks for the recommendations. I had bought a loose HT Neo body, but it didn't fill out the suit, and I'm reluctant to use any sort of padding as I'm relatively new to making customizations/modifications. All other HT and Worldbox bodies I have are too large for it; I'll look into the Coo Model and Kumik bodies.

Just use black electrical insulation tape to bulk up the areas that are too small. I did this with a custom Avengers Cap back in the day so i could have two of them.

This looks amazing, well done :goodpost:

davejames, I’m sorry because I really wish I could compliment your work on throwing together an A1 Cap but it looks just horrendous. Your best best would be to just send it to me and I will make sure it is never seen again :wink1: :lol
