You guys liked your Aayla Secura figures out of the box?

<-- Wasn't dumb enough to expect any more than what we got, a female Buck-based figure with a barely there outfit, a Twi'lek headsculpt, lightsaber and robe. I don't understand the people that expected synthetic patterned leather and a better body on a low ES'd $69.99 figure. :huh

That's because it was a horrible figure.

A meh character as well. People just liked her cause the chick that played her has a nice rack. :dunno

But yea, the figure sucked. Well all the Star Wars female figures suck except the Bounty Hunter Leia and the sith chick.

Yup. Those two are great.

They could have at least not made her neon blue.

I do prefer that they made her, as opposed to not bothering at all. The figure I ended up with is awesome, and one of my favorites. Within the extent of my knowledge, she is the best Aayla collectible in existence. Still, it took multiple acts of god to get her to that point.

Point is, Doc would be a good exclusive, especially since I'm one of three people that want the figure at all.

Doc would be great, but I suspect that if they do him, he'll be a regular release. :wink1:

In the tradition of the Aayla Secura SDCC exclusive, they could do a Counter Intelligence Pilot Scarlett. She doesn't have any exposed joints so she won't look as bad as Aayla and then they could have a female Joe in the ranks. Then when they finally :impatient: have their new and better female body they can make Baroness, Lady Jaye and an original Scarlett, hopefully real soon:tap.

:acmeI'm sure some people will wanna kill me for this:stake:cuss, so remember, it's just my opinion, so please don't hate me too much:nana:.:blissysmi

Hey, enough with the Star Wars banter...there's another thread for that stuff...back to G.I. Joe!

The LRRP 3-pack would be awesome as some sort of con exclusive, but would be quite pricey at over $300. Ironknife over at Hisstank did these customs (don't know if he is on these boards) and did a phenominal job...maybe they are good only as customs.

Could we get Doc by mix and matching gear from figures already done? Sure...

If they did an urban camo version of Stormshadow I would fall out of my chair. I love that look.

The Cobra bazooka trooper is one I hadn't thought of. They could do a lighter color version, with maybe the Viper's vest, but would have to include the RPG and the netted helmet.

I'd prefer that they just stuck with the identical blue color used by the Trooper & Officer. In general, I'd rather see some Blueshirts with different gear and new head sculpts than ones with different colored uniforms.

If they're going with environment specialists, a basic Blueshirt w/ winter coveralls & helmet cover would be okay for a Polar Trooper, as would one with a jungle themed ghillie suit. Ideally, though, any of these variants could also be displayed as additional basic Troopers with unique head sculpts.

If they decide to test-drive the new female body with something more generic, why not a female Blueshirt?

<-------Not interested in this thread.

C'mon...we know that Sideshow staff peruse these pages. Plus its fun to forecast possibilities and discuss ideas for who could be done with a little thought.

Also, this is giving them a heads up that we don't want any more repaints and to be more creative in their releases. Yeah, it's great that they are doing us the favor and releasing anything at all at SDCC, but at least give us our money's worth...and repaints are simply cashing in.

and repaints are simply cashing in.

Considering the expense involved (i.e. design, manufacturing, etc.) . . . repaints are another way to make $ to recoup (i.e. make $ & profit) from the effort & materials.

Besides . . . repaints can be well done (i.e. COBRA SNIPER, COBRA DESERT SNIPER, COBRA DESERT TROOPER).

Granted, if repaints are not your cup of tea, then pass.

I would not be surprised if we'll actually get PYTHON PATROL repaints somewhere down the line.

Because they would rather do it using a ART S BUCK female body because it'll be cheaper and not necessarily require much less and still sell a worthwhile amount from those of us who buy practically anything/everything from the product line whether it's an exclusive or not . . . or whether it's 1:6 scale or another scale . . . etc.

Granted . . . I am not advocating the re-use of an ART S BUCK female body, but then again for all we know . . . Sideshow's "new" female body is simply a refined/revised ART S BUCK female body or a derivative of the female HOT TOYS TRUE TYPE or a derivative from another company.

Don't get me wrong...I'd be perfectly happy with a Desert Trooper to complement Dusty, the Sniper and Officer in the Weapons Cache. Or another blue shirt or "corrected" Cobra Officer with silver sigil and black web gear.

Maybe the SDCC exclusive will only be for troop builders or obscure variants like the CCC - so Python Patrol, Night Force, Tiger Force, Night Watch, etc. etc. are all possibilities.

But wouldn't it be nice to see something unexpected?

There's definitely more space for Cobra Trooper variants, but hopefully not a Trooper, Officer, or Sniper that exactly matches the original except for having a woodland camo uniform or a white-colored arctic one with a fur lined collar. I think both Desert Trooper variants would be selling better if they had all-new portraits like the Ninja Viper and Black Dragon Ninja Exclusive do.

I wouldn't want any direct adaptations of the Python Patrol figures, but wouldn't mind a more indirect tribute (such as giving a Night Viper or Jungle Viper specialized uniforms that resemble synthetic snake skin and that allegedly have heat-signature reducing characteristics. Tiger Force Flint might also sell if they did a new head sculpt (or least had better paint apps), stepped up his existing gear, and added a machete.
