Watches are a thousand times more reliable than a phone. I never knew how useful a phone could be until I got a good one, and I have to say it's a damn good invention. Up there with the lightbulb and radio. But watches were really the first great invention, and to this day are the coolest piece of jewelry a person can wear. I wish I hadn't lost every one I've ever owned.

A watch can't do a fraction of what a cell phone can, and I hate having more on me than I need too. Absolutely despise having things in my pockets. If I owned a watch, I don't know if I would wear it.

I don't wear one. I just look at my phone.

Watches are nothing but jewelry now.

Not to helicopter pilots. You can't let go of the controls and cyclic to get your phone out of your pocket and check the time so you know how much fuel you have left.

Very nice.

Nothing. I don't wear watches anymore. When I was younger and more superficial, I wore a Gucci...the old school style that was shaped like a "G" and retailed for a G. Also had a Movado, which I gave to my brother when I received a new, limited edition edition Movado in 2002 (this Movado did not have a battery and ran on kinetic motion...forgive me if I'm not aware of the technical term for this). Left it at work and it was stolen off my desk in 2005...even though I work in a secure access building. Haven't worn one since.

Those are slick IJ :rock

:clap that's what I have, an All Black 51-30 Chronograph

Irish, I really like the Pro-Hunt. Be careful of the PVD. They do wear. I have a Kobold Phantom PVD, MTM Blackhawk PVD, and MTM Patriot PVD. Hopefully it will bring you many cherished memories. My Favorite watch I have is Cartier Roadster Chronograph.

You can always call it an automatic movement. :)

Thanks, I hate to say it, but most of my watches are based on movies I like. The Tag is the Jason Bourne watch. Kobold Phantom and MTM Blackhawk are Jack Bauer's. The submariner is Bonds. The Omega is Bonds. Stupid reason I know, but just as good of a reason as any I guess.

Is that the technical term for it? I know different brands have different terms.

Not stupid at all. It's obvious that you have an affinity for luxury watches. Some guys collect cars, some collect other crap (and I'm not using that perjoratively). I'd love to have a watch collection. Unfortunately, having two young kids precludes me from spending much money on stuff for me. Always wanted an Omega and a Fendi.

not into expensive watches (or expensive cars). if i had that kind of money it would be spent on other stuff for sure. I have to nut up just to buy $100 swatch.

Right now this:

Best $10 I've spent.

I used to wear this:

I loved it because it took a bit to learn how to tell the time but once you did it was easier than even the hands on a standard analog. Plus it lit up so that was cool, I'm waiting for Amazon to do another Gold Box offer with Toyko Flash and get a newer updated one.
