Is there some rule here that says the term OTHER DISCUSSION must be confined to the toy department of society? Why is it that when more serious issues come up, and even when the conversation is civil, that somebody here gets very frightened of too much reality and pulls the plug.

You should probably PM this question to a mod.

Well for me personally I come to toy forums to to escape reality, not dive into it.

Just my opinion.

other discussion is for subjects that don't fit into the present categories. but keep in mind this is a collectibles forum and issues like assisted suicide, drugs, the homeless problem in america, health care, politics, religion and national security will probably cause tempers to flair and feelings hurt. we're here to have fun, not to vote on who is your favorite up and coming porn actress. :lol :lol :lol remember that? :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Also, hot button topics like Highlander are too much for the board as well.:monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

So this rule on not having any reality and only playing in the toy department, where is that written down so I can see it with my own two eyes?

The way I see this, OTHER DISCUSSION, takes in a whole lot more than just plastic toy versions of Britney Spears.

Wy can't intelligent people discuss what they want to discuss providing its not obscene or illegal?

If somebody does not want to participate or even read it, thats fine, its like the channel on your TV turner --- just go to something else if it does not interest you.

because they always end up in flame wars which means more work for the mods. Don't be offended by it Gideon. Just accept it and move on.

Nothing written in stone saying you cant make a thread about anything you want, hell you can make a thread about "the finer points of sniffing ones finger after ones finger has been applied to ones ass crack", but that doesnt mean you are gonna get a valid discussion on it.

Forum Rule #8045 states: There shall be no discussion of serious subjects outside of toy dollies allowed. So it is written, so it shall be done.

:D

Dave owns the board and he can do what he wants.
