Cool :banana I just fancied a rolling desert scene with a blue or red sky. the shelf is 82x16.5 inches roughly, with the back and 2 sides included. The back alone would be cool if thats too big, the back is 38x16.5 roughly. Theres no rush m8 i aint got any sandies yet.

Finally getting round to weathering me old boy! (Sounds like self harm I know, but go with it guys!)

Got some bits and bobs in the post from Toy Anxiety to finish off my kitbashed Sandtrooper. Now I need to apply some grime!!

Now I'm a literal kind of chap. All the Sandtroopers I've seen have a "Sand effect" added to them. Seems to me it would be easier to just use sand.

So I've mixed up a paste using PVA Glue and a very fine grade sand and slapped it all over me-lado!

The theory is that the PVA glue will dry clear leaving me a nice textured finish to paint on.

Oh and by the way, I noticed the glue has run and started to "pool" in some areas so I have gone back and evened these out.

I'm leaving him to dry overnight on the Aga, then tomorrow I shall add an Ochre wash to match the Sideshow Shoulder Bells he's sporting. Then he should just need a few strategic darker flecs and we'll see if I have a template for my other 6 sandies... or some more landfill for the council! LOL

Are those 1/6 scale sand particles? If not, it won't be screen accurate:D

Other than that, count me three in to see how this works out. If only my ex waitlist would convert. Very clever Darth!

Well sir...I stand corrected and beg forgiveness. Your attention to detail is 2nd only to the mighty Dorgs, ooops, I meant to say your attention to detail is even more superior than that rookie Dorgs...and I shall never doubt again.

The black particle on the left of the thing, just below that part, does look a little big! I guess it still a good job though.:lol

How many sand whittlers are in a gnats mouth anyway?

1) Thank you.

2) I stand corrected - it shall be removed!

3) Ahhh... quite a few, plus a big number... minus infinity... times 3 = 42

I'm thinking that somewhere in China a Sandtrooper was produced for Sideshow, sent by container boat to either the port of Los Angeles or Long Beach then to the Sideshow warehouse in Thousand Oaks where it was then shipped to Phoenix Arizona only to be ripped apart. So parts form the very same Sandie may well be on your kitbash in Exeter and my kitbash in Oakland.... Small world, old bean! :D

OK I've been away for a few days, but the Postman never rests! (and you all know I can't go anywhere without picking up something - like a bloody Magpie I am!)

<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Sandtrooper/?action=view&current=Haul1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Sandtrooper/Haul1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

So first off a big thank you, in no particular order, to:

Mr D. Snow - Provider of 3xMedicom bodies, 2 sets of Medi trooper hands, 1 pair Medi Shoes, A copy of ANH Revisited on DVD (not pictured) and much jolly banter - Love ya mate!

Mr Red Robert (Crimsonbob to you lot) - For the supply of one superb Imperial R2 unit - I love this figure mate, your a star! Plus another Hasbro Sandtrooper for me to butcher... Ahem, I mean improve upon!

A big shout goes out to www.toyanxiety.com for selling me a whole bunch of Sandie bits to finish off my two kitbashed troopers.

And finally thank to FP UK, for tempting me with overpriced toys that I couldn't refuse!!! Piett and a True Type Narrow join the gang.

So finally the point of all this rambling, The true type is for a Kit bashed ANH Han solo... with no further ado, I shall begin. If he's sorted tonight I'll show you how he looks. I noticed the ANH Han image thread has bumped to page one, so I might stick him in there later on.

See you soon.
