Ok, now I’ve read the whole article, Disney are stopping physical media in Asia as well (except Japan of course) and Latin America. Guardians 3 will be the last release in Oz so its not even a phasing out. It’s. Just. Stopping.
This is from Sanity retailer in Oz

There’s also a really weird thing going on with a Disney licensee producing Steelbook covers for WandaVision Blu-Rays even though there is no such release anywhere. Obviously for pirated copies lol.

It's Disney though so what are you missing. Each new movie is either crap or not released in the proper aspect ratio on disc. I haven't bought physical media from them in years as a result.

I will restate, I have been buying physical media for 40 years. Old habits die hard. I buy ~5 movies a month.

I wonder if the value of the 1937-2018 Disney Animated Classics Blu Ray Box Set they released a few years ago will go up now.

Come to think of it, I did wonder why there wasn't some kind of extravagant box set released this year to coincide with the 100th Anniversary of Walt Disney Studios.

I guess I have the answer... for Australia, at least.

I had finally just picked up the Criterion Bruce set. So of course 2 months later Arrow announces the 4k set. So c-ya later Criterion.. lol

The sexy box was worth the upgrade on its own lol

4k disks of the movies do. Blu ray special features and blu ray of Enter the dragon, Game of Death 2 and Game of Death alternate versions are all region locked.

Kino Lorber are prepping Sneakers on 4K which is great news. Watched it recently with my kids (they loved it) and it didn’t look particularly good. Hopefully the new transfer will resolve some of the issues.
