This movie is a piece of garbage. It got made because they were in a big hurry to get a product out, not because they had something good to share.

The movie failed because you have toxic older fans who will attack every single new Terminator movie and the franchise has not gained new fans over the years. The reason it failed has nothing to do with what you are claiming and crying about. Captain Marvel and the dismally failed boycott proved that what you cry about had no bearing on what the majority is interested in seeing.

Those toxic fans started bashing this Terminator movie from the time the first poster was posted on Facebook. Before the trailer was even released they were out in force attacking the movie they had not even seen a trailer for.

Read my other post. The old people who are now the toxic fans dont like being called out. They started bashing started before they knew anything about the movie besides seeing a poster for it. Unfortunately for Hollywood they cant afford to wait the 30 or 40 years for those people to die off before making sequels. Unless they can attract a new and young audience they are out of luck.

If the studio wasn?t aiming at such fans, they wouldn?t keep making stories that find a way to justify 70 year old Arnold still in them or break Linda Hamilton out of retirement. It?s known that the last few films jaded a lot of the fan base and this was an attempt to restore faith and make the property sellable again, much like Halloween 2018.

You can?t fault long time fans for having problems with it because we?re who this was made for. It?s like if you said you hate pizza and the very smell of it makes you throw up and someone says hey, I?m gonna make you a meal you?ll really like cuz you?ve had some lousy ones lately and they put a pizza down in front of you. You can?t act like you?re doing something for someone and when it falls flat, be shocked their reaction isn?t what you?d hoped for.

What it boils down to is, they seem to understand the long time fans haven?t been happy, but they also don?t get how to make them happy either, so at this point, they should ignore that entirely and just make new stuff that speaks only to making new fans. The old fans will watch their classic films, and surely have some complaints about the new, but it won?t be like this time around.

Jesus dude. Do you have issues? This forum is not the place for that...and the movie was just downright horrible with zero creativity, rehashed ideas...just the same old same old thing which we seen 5 times already...with the today's spin...switch names, switch genders, kill beloved characters...**** on the legacy of the old movies...and yet do nothing new in the process. And I am so glad that movie failed big time. They deserved it. And the funny thing is Terminator Resistance which of course is not an AAA game but has heart and it is a prequel to the first two...and they handled the IP with huge respect is the best thing which came out since T2. And this is what the new movie should have been.

For what it's going to be worth.

I am relaxed. The toxic older fans are the ones who need to relax.

Your hypothesis is simply amiss. Lifelong SW fans like me and jye were hating on the idea of RO, Fordless Solo and Fettless Mando but great characters and storytelling instantly won us over on all three. We are not anomalies, many longtime fans find peace of mind with early pessimism only to immediately discard it once the they are proven wrong.

I admit that in the early days of TLJ backlash I succumbed to the idea that half the fandom were impossible to please trolls but that just isn't the case.

I love this meme. The generation defined by Woodstock, anti-war, free love, socialism-over-capitalism and drugs-expand-your-mind is reduced to a bunch of old farts who just need to shut up. And the fact that Gen Z is clueless of this even with the internet in their pocket makes in even better.:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Gen X ROCKS.:yess::lol

I hate to say it, but the Boomer generation is the best and most influential generation in our lifetime, so much in fact that X and Millenials are still in the Boomer's shadow. Culturally, socially, artistically, and in just about every category that's important in the last 60 years is the product of Boomers. Gen X and Millenials failed. We can't even have a President. :lol It's up to Gen Z to take down the Boomers. We'll just chill in an island drinking milk. :chillpill:

Saw Terminator Dark Fate last night. Had hope.

Aspects were good, like having Linda Hamilton back. But the story was so cliched and lazy. I got to the "I'm Carl, the T800 Interior Decorator scene or whatever" part of the movie and it was no Bueno.

Action was ok. Some of the imagery was good. Way too much CGI crap though. Lazy ass movie.

It makes it all pretty hard to believe that Karl could age like a normal human. These things are solid metal robots (no living internal organs) with some living flesh "window dressing" on the outer layer to fool future humans.
Over the weekend while this forum was down, I ran into an article that originally, Cameron had intended Terminators to eat in order to sustain their living flesh suit. It was cut out of T1 and T2.

You can sort of buy that maybe the robotics can supply the skin in a rudimetary way enough to maintain it but the idea that the skin is good enough to fool Karl's wife (boy, she's perceptive, huh? - thank goodness they kept nearly all her dialog inaudible:lol) AND that he ages exactly like a normal human is laughably silly.

It's like a baggy human dermal/skin wrapped around a metal robot. It's that aspect that makes his whole marriage thing just laughably dumb.

Well you have an AI in there too. This is why I thought this film would have been better had it been more of an exploration of Carl rather than the usual bad robot chasing future savior story. Kinda like Ex Machina in a horror setting.

One other huge logic error in Dark Fate is how the rev-9's black endoskeleton entity can walk "into" the liquid metal entity to re-merge the two parts together, yet the liquid metal portion doesn't grow/swell in size at all to accomodate it. How does all that volume from the endo just disappear when it merges back with the liquid metal part?

Unless the liquid metal part is sort of hollow (didn't seem to be) shouldn't the liquid metal "half" be smaller when the endo half is separate, or shouldn't it grow by 50% as the skeleton returns, even just for a few seconds?

The metal part seems hollow at parts (his head for example and parts of its torso). The liquid part also does not have to be solid while on its own (it can be hollow too like a balloon). I don't think volume is an issue here.

It is hilarious that Miller blaming everyone and everything elso for the failure of Dark Fate!

It is a crap movie and I am glad it failed. They deserve every bad things to be honest. And Miller is a hack director who just cannot understand why it failed and blaming other for his own failure.

Play through Terminator Resistance. It is a great game with a brilliant story. A fantastic prequel to the first two with an epic an emotional ending. The hole game respects the story. I cannot believe Hollywood is that incompetent with the franchise. In a way it was sad to see what the hole thing could have been while playing the game. The game did what the movies couldn't at all after Judgment day.
