I got the first of the new Marvel today comics and, I have to say, I was really excited to start reading it! I always enjoyed the old Marvel series, and I enjoyed many of the Dark Horse comics as well, but I feel a new impetus to read these comics since they are officially in canon now. I really want to keep up with the adventures of our heroes 
That being said, it's going to be a great source for new custom characters! While the first issue didn't carry much in the way of new people (didn't really expect it to), I'm excited to see who they do introduce us to in the future (or, possibly introduce us to again if they happen to bring back some old EU characters).
Between new comics, the Rebels animated series, new novels, and new movies, it's a great time to be a Star Wars fan!
