Deckard
Super Freak
I read a review saying this was Scorsese's "The Shining."
Thats a mouthful. I don't think it will accomplish that for me, now knowing what I do about The Shining, but I'm still looking forward to seeing it

He who smelt it, dealt it, GTFO.
Spoiler:There's nothing supernatural about it.
And I was a bit disappointed that I had it figured out about 5 minutes in and kept waiting for it to add another twist that I didn't see. But it never did.
Spoiler:I would say it's like "Harper's Island" meets "A Beautiful Mind".
not to me. Should have spent my money on Wolfman instead.
Spoiler:Granted, I too had figured it out pretty soon, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it!

Spoiler:It reminded me about The Shining actually. Mainly due to the music and certain views just from the island which was pretty ominous, just like the hotel is too.
the only thing that matters is if Voorhees enjoys it
I just saw the movie and although it wasn't what I expected, I think it was great. It did a very good job at making me feel uneasy. The score did help at that too, because it was pretty unsettling at times.

Spoiler:also, the intro when he lands off the ferry and he was entering the facility was just cheese. I think it was supposed to be dramatic and induce fear and awe in the viewer of the asylum, but I didn't get any of that. Seemed rushed or not planned out well at all. Nothing like driving to the overlook hotel with theacompanting score.
I hated the score/sound effects, it sounded incomplete and often stopped short without any added dramatic effect.

and for the record, I went into this unbiased and avoided, on purpose, all threads and discussions about this movie, so I'd hopefully be pleasantly surprised. Didn't happen.
