Warner Bros. has set Gerald's Game director Mike Flanagan to helm the film adaptation of Stephen King's 2013 sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep, which follows Danny Torrance, the son in The Shining, now in his 40s while he's still haunted by the Overlook Hotel. Flanagan will also reportedly rewrite the script originally adapted by Akiva Goldsman.
Doctor Sleep follows Danny, who has now dealing with similar issues to what his father Jack Torrance did back in the day. However, once Danny becomes sober his "shining" powers return and he establishes psychic connection with a young girl, who is being targeted by a group with similar abilities. Doctor Sleep is directly connected to the events in The Shining and the Overlook Hotel.

Lol... I didn’t even know King had written a sequel. That plot synopsis sounds like... something else to say the least.
