Bears looked good tonight. Jay looked great, minus that fumble, Marshall was a beast and what else can be said about the D? Even Webb kept Ware out of Cutler's face most of the night. Forte didn't get over used, which was good since he still isn't 100% obviously. The TE's really stepped up on the pass protection too. Biggest surprise was the job of the O line. They weren't perfect, but they got it done. When Cutler has time and the pocket doesn't completely collapse around him, he makes plays. Hopefully they can keep it up.
That was a pathetic showing by the Cowboys last night. Such a Jekyll and Hyde team.
Dallas really missed Anthony Spencer. With Spencer out, the Bears were able to double team DeMarcus Ware all night and bootleg away from him. With the amount of sacks Webb gave up to Clay Matthews and Green Bay, I was certain DeMarcus Ware would have a three sack night minimum. Unfortunately, with Spencer out, no one else on their defense stepped up, and Chicago smartly used a TE to stay in and block a majority of the time.
Dallas’ O-line is horrendous. Way too much pressure on Romo. I turned the game off midway through the third quarter, so I didn’t see Romo’s final two picks and how bad they were.
Objectively looking at his first three picks, though. Two of them were not his fault. Dez Bryant needs to get his ***** together. That stop and go move he ran on Charles Tillman would have been good for a touchdown HAD Romo had time to throw. As it was, the Bears were blitzing and Romo had to go to his hot read, but Bryant failed to run a slant or a hitch route. Pick six. The second pick was Ogletree’s fault. Ball hit him right in the chest. The third pick and second pick six to Lance Briggs looked more like a fumble to me, but either way, it was seven points the other way.
As much as like the Bears on MNF, I can't stand ESPN and their NFL commentators. Unless you're the Giants, Packers, Cowboys, or Niners, they don't give a ******.
In the beginning of the game when Gruden was saying Cutler and Romo were gunslingers and saying Cutler remineded him of Clint Eastwood and Romo reminded him of John Wayne, I was like "WTF"?
Going from a Super Bowl winning head coach to having to shill and hype a game? I know Gruden likes being in the broadcast booth, but still.
