Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I picked up a Mark 43 today, and it's definitely a major step up from the Mark 7. Putting them side by side makes the Mark 7 look very mediocre. In terms of the overall look and paintwork, this may be Neca's best quarter scale figure. It looks REALLY good.

The figure also feels a lot more sturdy than the Mark 7 for the most part. I was really surprised by the weight too, as it's definitely not as heavy as most of the quarter scale figures. I have no worries of him falling. :) I have heard some complain about the ankles not having enough articulation, but I think it's perfect. Just enough to get some cool poses, but not so much that the figure will fall.

The lights give a much better effect compared to the Mark 7 too. The "fogged" white plastic with the light behind it really makes it look like its glowing.

I will say it is a bit annoying having the shoulder pads connected to the torso, but there's so much good here that I'll give it a pass. Overall I would definitely recommend picking the Mark 43 up, especially if you want a higher quality Avengers team. :)

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Love this figure, but I don't like how the whole head lights up with the eyes. In regular light it's okay, but in a dimmer room it looks weird.

Just noticed that in the pics above after you mentioned it. That's definitely a distraction.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Never liked the movie armor; it's a real clown show. Would love to see Neca do 1/4 scale Iron Man with the armor he wore in 1960-70's comics.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I'd like to see that too. Hot Toys should be considerably better given the huge price difference, but these Necas are pretty awesome given the price.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

I talked my mom into ordering one of these for my nephew. Of course I will order it for her and hold on to it until he comes to visit in a few months.

Yes, I am finding clever ways to feed my addiction.

Entertainment Earth has him for $94.99 shipped. Has anyone found a better deal anywhere?

So, I picked this guy up and I'm really impressed-Neca did a great job with paint and details and much improved proportions. The extra 'repulsor blasting' hands are a great touch. However, this whole "My whole head lights up when you turn my eyes on" thing is bugging me. The mk 7 doesn't have this problem, and frankly, it ruins the whole look if your room is at all dim. Anyone know a way to fix this aside from opening up the head and painting the inside? I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try and remove the head and take it apart. I'm guessing that's about the only way to do it, but I'm just curious if anyone has any other ideas.

Whatever you do to fix it, I think you would have to open the head.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. Well, I'll take another look tonight, but I don't see any other solutions. :(

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

Opening the head to either tape the inside with foil or paint the inside black should help. I've had a Mark VII come to me with the head split open during transit, so I don't think it takes too much to open it.

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

It looks like Neca is making a life size foam statue of comic Deadpool.

Hopefully this means we can get a 1/4 Deadpool as well.... :)

Oh my god...I always thought life sized anything was stupid but that might be too awesome

Re: NECA: 1/4 The Avengers

After looking at that pic, with the price difference being so great, you have to give Neca credit for putting out a really great 1/4 figure at an amazing price.

I got my new Iron Man today. Only complaint I have is that the paint on the back half of the head is a little darker. Other than that I love it! IMG_0467.jpg
