Lovely bones. Being a dad to a wonderful daughter, I cannot imagine going through that. Like my worst fear.

lovely bones Should have been a much better movie if it wasn't for jackson crapping all over it, any emotional stuff it had going was gone with the silly afterworld and all the cgi for it. (and Mark Wahlberg being terrible in it)
i have no idea how the book is, but the movie gets too silly at times. the guy as creepy as hell.
I think if they had made the movie more serious and cast someone else as the dad it would have been a great depressing movie, the subject was very dark to begin with.
Jackson makes it feel like a fantasy movie.

Definitely agree with Million Dollar Baby.

I'll add Forrest Gump. Very depressing, the love of his life keeps coming and going, then comes back for good only to immediately die.

I would second Irreversible, vincent cassel is a train on fire in that film, also salo felt i needed a shower for my soul after that one!
