I've not been through this thread but just in case this hasn't been posted...

Here are some screen comparisons between the original Blu-Ray release and the new Extended Edition of 'Fellowship of The Ring'.

All I can say is that I'm glad I held off buying the original Blu-Rays despite the price drops! :yess:

The TE blus look great I think but it does appear that the EE they went in and dotted all the I's and crossed all the T's.

Again...Borders Books ONLINE has LOTR at 60% OFF with CODE: BLP2566Y ...that is about $62.50 AND FREE shipping!!

just put this in and it came up 25% off.....total is $93.74.... :gah:

Edit 1: Wait.....that is the standard discount....code not applying...might be user error.......ill keep trying...

Edit 2: Ok, so I checked for spaces.....re-copy / paste etc.....either the code is no longer good or I don't deserve a discount cause I can't use a website.....anyone else having issues?

maybe it was the scene when Frodo is unconscious on Rivendell and Elrond appears as in a dream. The screen does momentarily go white?
I cannot be sure as i purposely havent watched these for at least 6 months due to the BR EE coming soon ;)

Ah, can't wait to watch these in HD glory for the first time. $35 well spent.

From The Digital Bits:

"Colors are pleasing too, though it's worth noting that the color timing for these films has been redone. I've confirmed with production-related sources that Jackson and cinematographer Andrew Lesnie were directly involved in all decisions related to this new transfer and approved it personally. So to the extent that there are changes to the color-timing, they were made at Jackson and Lesnie's direction - the films look exactly as they want them to."

Seriously can't wait for this deal to be delivered! :yess:
Knowing my luck, though, B&N will perform a minor cancellation on some of the orders and I'll be included. :(
